Luckily we got our money back on the last minute from booking.com. the owner canceled our reservation just few hours before our departure trying to keep the full amount t of money after falsely abuse us of being aggressive on the phone with him. Be careful about it.  There are so many apartments available on this beautiful location.

Possible SCAM

Close to the beach and restaurants. Very nice and clean apartmets with fridge and kitchenette. 
The straff was very helpful with both the luggage and information about the city. 
Would definitely come back! 


Great location and good service 

Large, carefully furnished, super-equipped (there is also a washing machine), large balcony, free parking, very close to the beach and the centre, very friendly operators.

Not cheap, of course!

We stayed in a couple with a dog, absolutely an excellent large and clean solution, in a very central position on the sea with a living balcony!!! Daily cleaning and towel supply!!! parking under the house!!!

Three nights

My friend and I ended up here because our reserved guesthouse ran out of rooms for us. While I can't speak to our originally reserved hotel, this place was great! Not only did they spare us from sleeping on our car, but the accommodations were nice as well. Our room had a double bed, couch, mini fridge, air conditioning, and terrace! We were told there was a pool but didn't use it.  Onsite parking available. 

15 minutes from entrance 1 to plitvice.  

Pros: everything except the 1 con written below

Con: the towels were tiny. Basically face towels.  Now I give them the benefit of the doubt that they usually have larger towels but because they weren't expecting us until we walked in (at 11:30pm), it's possible it just wasn't set up.  However, you may want to inquire about this before you reserve!  

Surprise visit!

We had family apartments for five people. Very spacious, clean. Friendly staff. Of course they don't clean, but they change the beds and towels once a week. They can be replaced. Near the sea, you won't have to work very hard. Near the beach, you can walk around and eat deliciously. The city is not big, a week at most.

Rest at sea

Perfectly located, very clean and tidy, beach 50 m from the house, bar, restaurants, supermarkets, city centre, all within 5 min. walking distance. They even had camera surveilance where we left our car. Hosts were very kind and helpful 
Extra included a washing m/c as we were touring. Great apartment spacious and view to beach area.

Great Place Great Location

We were traveling with a large family, so we booked 2 rooms. The first room for 4 people (No2): -sam room is large, consisting of two rooms of normal size, shared kitchens. So if there is noise in one room - you can relax in another. - kitchen is also good size with modern TV and a lot of programs. We watched 2 Russian channels. - dishwasher is not. Keep in mind that there is NO ice cream in the fridge. So we couldn't buy frozen food in the store, everything melted. There are enough dishes, but a very small cutting board. - the lamps over the bathroom don't work. - also the bathroom doesn't work: the lamps over the bathroom in the bathroom - we like the bathroom, we can't drink the good water - there was no water in the bathroom - there was a nice room nearby, but there is a lot of them.

Nice rooms, great location.

We were two couples and we weren't satisfied with the rooms offered. One on the first floor by a very noisy street but it can happen.But the worst was the other room or to access it there was only a very, very narrow staircase in a vertical ramp to get to a good-room and the word good-room is not exaggerated.We packed the suitcases to two men one pushing the other one who was shooting and we didn't have big suitcases.When she saw our dismay she asked us to keep our passports until the next day.We had a terrace, so she asked us to pay for the entrance immediately.

To avoid

If you are looking for the vacation in Makarska stop reading and book it immediately. Vila Rubcic delivers on all levels. It is located on the main city beach.  We stayed in 2 bedroom spacious apartment. The furnishings were not luxurious but they were not Spartan either. It was just right for the vacation, comfortable and clean.  The rooms are air conditioned which is a must for the summer vacation. I loved drinking coffee with my wife on the balcony every morning and looking over the beach. 
The couch in the living room can also be converted into the bed so it can sleep even more people.  The family that runs the inn is extremely helpful and hospitable. I give it 5 stars because for the money you will not be able to find better place. If I ever decide to go back to Makarska I will stay here again. 

Now about Makarska. It is one of the most beautiful natural settings in the world. Unfortunately, Croatians do not understand that they have to take care of this beauty. The beach and the sea are dirty. Too many years of throwing garbage in the ocean, I spotted tires, and I believe an old stove on the bottom of the sea. Hundreds of bottles line the bottom just meters from the beach entrance. Cigarette butts outnumber the pebbles on the beach. In the afternoon it is impossible to get in the sea for a swim without having to wade through all kinds of garbage and personal hygiene items floating near the shore. It is a sad affair. As a comparison just a few miles up the coast are smaller cities that offer smaller crowds and cleaner beaches.
