A very cool old port tower with a fantastic outlook that at first glance you would never know is a hotel, and once you've dealt with the staff you'd hardly think it was a hotel either.
The general vibe of the place and rooms is a quite pleasant seaside rustic theme, inside a 400+ year old building. It is a really great location and gives access to bars and restaurants just a stones throw away, and a convenience store right across the road.
Our room while smallish was perfectly adequate for four days of chilling out, and letting the sea breeze blow through while sitting in the window alcove reading, having a beer or just watching the goings on was memorable. 

This place could be so great...

Sadly all the potential was let down by a shoddy staffing experience. The three girls that were running the place alternated between slightly friendly, disinterested, inconvenienced and non-existent. 

You could sit in the breakfast room unattended for 5 minutes or more while they talked away downstairs while smoking (a habitual issue) and would have to go and get them to provide service. On the first morning the breakfast food/coffee table looked like there should be a note from al-Qaeda claiming responsibility, but then it was towards the end of the breakfast service so I guess I should cut them some slack... ahhh no, the table stayed like that for the four days we were there, complete with coffee stained table cloth and general mess and disorganisation.

Another classic was the evening we returned at 10:45pm to find the air conditioning unit (which is rather rowdy) had leaked water on the floor and it had soaked up into the bed sheet. My wife went downstairs to request a new sheet and was told that one would be brought up in 10 minutes. Twenty five minutes later nothing had arrived so she went down again and the place was deserted, staff gone for the night. The next morning upon being asked what happened the girl paused a while before saying she knocked on the door but no one answered -  yeah right, we had even left the door ajar.

Being unable to charge a drink at the bar back to your room was bizarre, and our room remained unserviced for the duration of our stay.

Fawlty Towers

When we were already in Dalmatia we did not want to miss the opportunity to visit Trogir. We love to stay in good and the special hotels - the logical choice was the Hotel Marinska Kula. Our choice has proven to be just wonderful. Wonderful position and surroundings, amazing interior with the spirit of the past, comfortable and fully equipped rooms, excellent restaurant with great offer of local specialties, average staff (unfortunately), noisy air conditioning and a little bit o high rates:).
Our rating is better than the overall impression because we believe that the observed minuses can be fast corrected. And position remains amazing:)

Amazing and wonderful position and surroundings, but with a few minor little mistakes

Stayed here for four nights and found it very very noisy firstly the air conditioning unit which needs upgrading and the noise from the outside. The staff were lovely and the accommodation very clean, but we would not stay again due to the lack of sleep mainly from the noisy air conditioning .

Noisy

Stayed at the hotel for one night prior to a sailing holiday departing from Marina Agana.  Location was perfect for me as it's just across from the marina.  The tower is really quite stunning when you come up to it and it's been nicely done up inside in a contemporary style while still maintaining original features.  

Rooms were clean and modern although a little on the small side, but fine for one night.  Unfortunately the hotel is just off the road round the marina and we were woken a couple of times by traffic or people talking on the street.  The air con is noisy and needs an upgrade!  

The hotel has a lovely marina-side restaurant/ bar - we didn't eat there, but enjoyed some blissful G&T's prior to bed!  

Highlights - beautiful building, great location
Lowlights - air con and noise

Would definitely stay again, although probably just for one or two nights.

This nice old building (villa) is very well restored and offer nice accomodations in a charming surrounding but the very kind people who manage the place are all but professionals and the rates are to high
