Although this is 3* accommodation, it deserves a 5! 
Fabulous hotel.  Wonderful food.  Very attentive staff - all very welcoming.   We had a lovely room with wonderful views. Clean sheets most days and clean towels every day.  We will definitely be returning to this gem again in the near future - highly recommended.

Wonderful week’s stay!

My husband and I stayed at the Samac for five days last week.  We've never been to this part of Croatia before and will definitely go again.  What a little gem Seget Vranijka is, a truly beautiful setting, perfect for a relaxing quiet break and within 15 mins walk to the ferry boat taking you to the Old Town of Trogir, well worth a visit.  Cannot fault he property really, the only thing maybe would be to install a hand rail on the first flight of stairs to the apartments. Every room has a beautiful marina view, wonderful sunsets, rooms are extremely clean, towels changed every day and bedding every other day.  Breakfast is served in the onsite restaurant and is amazing, wonderful spread, staff helpful and pleasant.  We ate in the  restaurant three times while we were there as the food, service and ambiance could not be faulted.  Lots of local walks to be enjoyed, beautiful beaches and crystal clear sea, we loved it .......

What a lovely gem of a place

Our family had an excellent stay at Villa Samac. The hotel is located right on the water and a quick walk to many beaches. The hotel was very clean and the staff were all extremely helpful. Our room had an amazing view of the water and surrounding area. Also the room and bathroom were spotless and the air conditioner worked well. The staff spoke English very well and were able to help with any questions we had about the traveling in Croatia. We will definitely come back to Villa Samac!

Fantastic stay

The owner treated us very badly.  He instructed his cleaning lady not to do our room.  When we questioned him, he claimed to be short of stuff and if we didn’t like we can go somewhere else.  He was so rude, lack of integrity and we ended up switching our stay to a neighbouring hotel next door for the last four nights of our stay.  That other hotel is called Villa Kula.

Never Again to Villa Samac

The owner, Jure Carija, was very rude, dishonest and racist.  My wife & I stayed in that place in 2019 for 10 days.  Back then we had a pleasant stay.  The hotel had its own restaurant and the rooms had its own kitchenette.  So we chose to come to the same place this year.  In 2019, I communicated with the hotel manager at the time.  This year, I communicated with Jure, not knowing at the beginning that he was the owner.  I messaged him via WhatsApp requesting a booking from 06 August to 25 August.  He told me that he cannot guarantee the room on 19 & 20 Aug.  And that I may have to switch to another place and come back on the 21st.  I agreed and decided to go somewhere else for that weekend.  Later on, when we booked our air ticket, we realized that our direct flight lands in Zagreb on the 6th.  It is about 4 hours drive from Zagreb to the hotel.  So, we decided to stay that night in Zagreb and drive safely the following day instead.  I messaged Jure to inform him that our arrival date is the 7th instead of the 6th and that we will spend the weekend of the 19th & 20th somewhere else.  To my utmost disappointment he was unhappy with this and asked to find another place one week before our flight date.  I messaged him back saying that I was straight forward with him from the start and that I booked that weekend elsewhere based on his guidance and was doing him a favour to him and his other guests.  He accepted my booking but wanted to charge me for the weekend even though I was not staying there.  I had to bite the bullet and accepted his terms because my arms were twisted having to deal with this one week before our flight leaves from Toronto.  We met Jure the first time upon our arrival on the 7th.  Much to our surprise we found that he has no more a restaurant in the hotel nor a kitchenette in the room.  Sadly, he failed to tell us that in any of our correspondences that started since May.  When I questioned that, again he said if I didn’t like it, I can go somewhere else.  Again he was twisting my arms and had the audacity to phone a friend offering me a room that was far from this location and 25% more expensive.  That was the 1st time when I realized that I was dealing with a crook and that all the previous messages were not a matter of miscommunication but a game that he was playing to his own benefit with no integrity whatsoever.  I refused the offer and told him that he had been unfair to us and that he was twisting our arms for no reason.  Finally, he allowed us in and accepted not to charge us for the weekend.  We were very stressed but were happy to secure our lodging after such a long voyage and in a foreign country.  The following day we spend the day at the beach.  When we entered the room, we found out that it has not been cleaned, the beds were not made, the garbage was not picked up and no fresh towels.  I saw the chamber maid lady and asked why she didn’t do our room.  She claimed that she was off. But we knew from our next door neighbour that her room was done.  When I told the chambermaid that, she pretended being busy and left.  So, I contacted Jure asking him to make sure we get a proper treatment as guests of his hotel.  He responded saying that he is short of stuff and we can find another place if we are unhappy.  Again he was twisting our arms for no apparent reason.  That is when I thought that he could be racist. Because even though we are Canadians but my skin colour is dark and my name is Arabic.  The following few days the chambermaid did our room and then she missed one day before our weekend.  I saw Jure that day outside our room discussing with new guests.  When he finished, I invited him to our room to see how it looks like as it was not done.  Again all what he had to say is that it would be better for us and for him if we find another place after the weekend instead of returning to his hotel.  My wife and arranged the room to the best we can and she even threw our the garbage herself.  Luckily we found a room in the hotel next door where we used to eat our breakfast.  It’s called Villa Kula. We stayed there our last four days upon our return from the weekend of 19 & 20 August.  Based on this experience, we will never come back to Villa Samac and discourage anyone who reads this to go there.  Jure the owner is a terrible example of Croatia and is not doing his country any favour dealing with tourist the way he did with us.

Never again in Villa Samac

We ordered a table one night to go and eat on this restaurant. The staff was horrible, it was the worst service we had ever experienced. We sat there waiting for the menues in 15 minutts until we got the stuffes attention. When we finally got to order, we had to wait one hour for the food. The food was good though.

Bad service

I asked if it is possible to pay with card. That was no problem. Afterwards, when i wanted to pay, paying with a card was NOT possible. I should have told the waiters that i wanted to pay with card. I followed the wrong procedure? Very strange and NOT customer friendly. 

No service 

At the end of a very long day of travel I arrived at Villa Samac at around 9 pm, ahead of another early start next day. I had chosen to stay there because of its location close to the airport.
The room had a nice view but for me it was spoilt by 2 others a couple of metres away on the adjoining balcony, smoking and looking in at me: there was no screening between balconies so no privacy and I couldn’t have a window open without smoke coming in.
Then after I had dinner, the restaurant man, who I paid by credit card, told me that the owner wanted me to pay tonight as I was leaving early, and that the policy was cash only. It was now after 11 pm and I had none. He pointed to a man sitting in the corner, without introducing us or indicating his role, and said he would drive me to an ATM. Villa Samara is very isolated, it was dark, I didn’t know this man, I was tired and so I refused; said I’d sort it out in the morning. Next the owner came to my room at 11.30 pm and demanded that I go and get cash, shouting at me, pushing into my room, dragging my case out and telling me if I wasn’t going to pay now, to get out. He got out the booking form and pointed (on page 2 or 3, I think) to the cash-only policy. I said I hadn’t read it, and proposed a solution for the morning. Eventually he stalked off and I had a sleepless night, left in the morning, paid cash. I would never recommend this place. The experience for me was horrible.
