It's a place designed to be reached by car, for someone traveling by public transport is unthinkable. It's just outside Rakovica, there are no nearby restaurants, the town has a supermarket and a bakery to visit. If you intend to spend the night to get to Plevitze by public transport, if you can think of it. It's 14 km by road and the buses that go there are what we would find in Grabovac 3 km from Rakovica. To get there in the morning, we were lucky that the owner took us there, and I say lucky because first he offered to take us to Plevitze for a lot of money and then he approached us to Grabovac because we needed to go. To get back to Plevitze, you'd have to form yourself to steal a small bus.

Thought of arriving by car and talking in Croatian.

We came here for a couple's trip to visit the Plitvice lakes. We found this perfect location. 10 minutes by car to get to the park. Nearby there are also restaurants, bars, pharmacies and shops where you can shop. As for the rooms, they are very quiet, clean and cozy. There are private and common bathrooms, and a common kitchen where you can cook. The owners are friendly and friendly. The prices are 50 euros for two nights.

A welcoming economy and very close to the lakes

We stayed here for 2 nights for our visit to Plitvice. This small town is not within walking distance but there were buses and the owners have a relative who is a taxi driver and helps them with communication in English.
Our room was a good size and came with a private bathrooom. The room was quite dark and had a slight musty smell but nothing too serious.
There was a small shared kitchen which was useful to have but a little difficult to use. 
The owners were very nice to us and were constantly giving us little gifts such as fresh food from their garden, cake and even some home made brandy!
Location is just on the edge of town coming from Zagreb - about 10 minutes walk to the shops and bus station.

Solid budget option

We had the Double Room with Balcony. The room was perfectly clean and a good size. The wifi works fine. There's a huge amount of free parking right outside and it's a great location for Plitvice Lakes National Park.

The owners don't speak English, which would be perfectly fine (they were very friendly), but in their advertisement it says that they do, which it shouldn't. There is no air conditioning. It does advertise air conditioning but maybe this is only in other rooms. This didn't matter to us as it was very cold, but the heating wasn't on and there was no option for just heating our room (like air con unit or fan heater), and we felt too uncomfortable to go down and ask them to turn the central heating on for the whole house. The small balcony might have a nice view, but it is completely obscured by a very close tree. The soap in the bathroom was heavily watered down. The kitchenette is shared (which wasn't clear beforhand) and not too well equipped.

reasonable room but with some deviations from what was advertised

The hotel is located in the centre of Plitvice, about 15 km from the city centre, with a spacious clean room with a balcony, clean bathroom and kitchen with everything from cups to dishes and soup kitchens, convenient underground parking, free Wi-Fi, excellent price ratio.

It's welcoming.

Rakovica is a small town/?village close to the Plitvice Lakes (near entrance 1), and has lots of free parking, a large garden and a small outside terrace to eat at. We had arranged early check in, but arrived even earlier, but we were allowed to leave our bags in the room whilst it was being cleaned. Our room had 2 single beds pushed together, a small table, a small balcony and an ensuite bathroom with a shower. There is also a small kitchen area.

I enjoyed my stay here, but my husband is prone to mosquito bites. The room's only downside is that it does not have air con; this entices mosquitoes to come inside, so some time was spent hunting them down!

great location

Basic accommodation with various numbers being accommodated, very affordable.  The breakfast was good and the host gave us great tips on doing the national park. The breakfast was 7 euros at Tina's (3 kilometers away) but the tour guide was priceless!
