This is a very clean hotel in a great location.  The owner is very nice. There was no AC and the room was very warm.  We were provided with a fan.  The stairs to get to the third floor are very very steep and difficult to climb without luggage.  They are kind of dangerous with luggage.  The price was only 40 euro night.

Great Price

Guest House Montalbano is all about location and host friendliness. At first the guest house is not easy to find, as it does not have any sign on the door. But after walking along the harbour, you will see a fountain. Keep walking until you pass a big arch, then go straight and you will find Montalbano street sign in front of you. Accordingly the guest house is right at the centre of a variety of good restaurants and entertainments. And we felt it was a memorable experience to have stayed in a local house to feel local – many tourists took photo of our building as well. Be warned that Rovinj’s road is tough for travelers with luggage.

The host is a friendly local who knows everything about Rovinj. With his direction we are able to find a quick path to the church for a breathtaking sea view. The room was basic with a private bathroom and a fridge. No AC and instead a fan was provided, but it was not that hot at night.

The trouble was the neighbourbood was central thus was very noisy until midnight. People were chatting and smoking, so we could smell the smoke as we had to open the window. Also the staircase was fairly steep so would be a good exercise for travelers with luggage.

Like a local!

These rooms are simple but adequate, the location in the old town is great and puts you in the middle of everything. The property has no outside signage so you are looking for the big Green Door with the number 14 above it (from the square go up the cobbled street through the gate take the second left and next right then its on the corner of Montalbano and Remigio Devescovi). No TV or air con but a small table fan, strong wifi and a fridge.
