This is the ultimate in hospitality not just in Rovinj, but in all of Istria.  We felt welcome the moment we arrived.  Our first night we had a fabulous wine tasting of the Dobravac family wines.  The rooms are nicely appointed - ask for an 01 room (e.g. 201) as it has three windows and is slightly larger.

Make this your home when visiting Istrian Peninsula

We stopped here for a wine tasting paired with little bites.  Well the bites were not that little and they were absolutely delicious!  The Villa is situated on a hill on the outskirts of Rovinj making it a peaceful oasis.  It's only a short walk into the old town.

Outstanding wine tasting paired with delicious bites!

This attractive family owned small hotel is about a 10 minute walk from the beginning of the old town of Rovinj. It was very quiet at night. Upon arrival we received a warm welcome from Natalina, the owner. The room was very spacious and modern, with a balcony. Breakfast was excellent. The only downside was that the air conditioning was ineffective.

Very nice place

They did all the things one hopes and expects, and then some. For example, on our first night we ate locally and brought back a 'doggie bag' of almost half of the generous seafood plate that we had ordered. Our hosts kept it in the fridge until the next evening, when they provided a table, cutlery, and of course wine so that we could finish off the meal. The Villa is a pleasant 10-mintes walk from the old town, and their breakfasts are truly outstanding.

Accommodating in every way

We loved every minute here. We might have paid for a more expensive room, I'm not sure, but our room faced the sunset and the lovely hill town of Rovinj. It was large and airy with a large bathroom and deck that we could sit out on. There is also a very large common deck area where wine and snacks are served. After a long day you can sit there, drink the wine made by the family, and watch the sun set over the town. It was truly lovely. Breakfast was plentiful and delicious - it was the first time on our long holiday that we encountered eggs! Such a treat for these Canadians. Karin looked after us and she was delightful - super nice, super helpful and super accommodating. We had booked two days for the north of Croatia and this was the only mistake of our trip. There are many things to do in the north, the landscape is gorgeous and Villa Dobravac is the perfect place to make a base. Our only regret is not staying longer. We shall be back.

Stay Longer

We did not have the pleasure of staying at Villa Dobravac, but ended up at the property as part of a self-guided walking wine tour in Rovinj.  We were there around noon, so too early for the wine tasting, but they graciously offered to put together tapas for us.  It’s hard to express what a lovely experience we had.  The food was so fresh and exceptionally tasty, featuring all the estate’s produce.  Accompanied by a couple of glasses of their delightful wines, it was a memorable lunch.

Also come for the food!

My rating is really a 4 1/2 for two small reasons, but everything else is so good, I couldn’t give them anything other than a 5.  Negatives:  1.  The WIFI is iffy.  Sometimes OK, sometimes nothing.  It is my understanding that it is not their fault but a continuing issue they have with their provider.  2.  The inability of the HVAC to cool our warmish room temp to a comfortable sleeping temperature (we were there in early June).

However, there are lots of positives:  Truly a family owned business and it shows with the cleanliness of the entire  property and the personable service of staff.  The villa is much larger and better situated than expected.  Truly a villa-sized establishment with a marble stairway, located on what appear to be a couple acres on a hill with a beautiful view of old town and the sea.  Free parking is available on a gravel lot on site, and we never needed our car until it was time to leave.

I booked almost a year in advance and asked for a room with a sea view.  They were already booked!  However, I asked them  to keep us in mind if one opened up, and upon arrival we were immediately greeted with “I got you a room with a sea view!”  Our room, 202, does in fact have a lovely view of the sea and Old Town with a set of double doors that open to a balcony with a table and two chairs.  Looking through a stand of trees, pine, fig, and olive is the crown jewel of the town, Church of St. Euphemia, and the sea with lots of sail boats.  It is just a 10-minute downhill walk from Villa Dobravac to Old Town.  

Breakfast at Villa Dobravac is a buffet and you can also order eggs made to order.  There is seating outside on the veranda or inside, whichever you prefer.  Suggestion: If you ask for hot chocolate you will get something like a chocolate pudding.  For hot chocolate, ask for is cacao, which is out of this world delicious.

Excellent Choice if in Rovinj

We stayed there for two nights. The beautiful villa is located in a tranquil setting within walking distance from the old town centre. Despite our late arrival, we had a warm by the very nice and helpful lady owner. As it was already very late in the evening, the lady owner offered to let us use the kitchen so we could prepare some food for ourselves. We were so touched by her kindness. The rooms were perfectly cleaned and tidied. There were a good choice of food for breakfast. The home made marinade was so fresh and tasty and a must try. The lady owner recommended some good restaurants and places to see sunset. The villa deserves 5 stars in every aspect. It was a very pleasant stay. 

Simply outstanding 

Rovinj was our first stop on our two week road trip through Croatia.  So yes we had a car.  The location of the inn is just outside of the city center.  The property has a beautiful view of the peninsula.  It was super easy to drive too, and since it was not in the old town center, we did not have to deal with the headaches of narrow streets, and parking.  The villa had plenty of parking!
We arrived a few hours early and it was no problem to check in.   Our room was directly above the main entrance. And had a great view!  The room was spacious and had a great bathroom.  Our host gave us a map of the area and recommendations for restaurants and how to get to a nearby beach.  Very friendly and patient with all our questions.
Breakfast was served everyday, with eggs to order,  we did not go out site seeing hungry.
The property is associated with their own olive grove, and winery.  While we were there they were squeezing grapes... great aroma!  We purchased some of their olive oil and vinegar.
This property proved to be a great location not for just the easy walk into town, but as a car base for our visits to Pula, pored, and Bale.
If you are looking for a comfortable, intimate inn, without the big hotel feel, I highly recommend this property, you will not go wrong.

Perfect stop on our Croatian road trip.

This is such a nice B&B just outside the city center, within an easy walk to the water and to town. Our room was modern and large with a good sized bathroom and terrific walk-in rain shower. As an extra bonus, we had a balcony with a lovey view of town. All this was much more than we expected from a B&B.

Unfortunately we were only able to spend one night. We had an early ferry to Venice the next morning and when we told the receptionist we would have to settle our bill upon check-in because of our early departure, she told us she would make us a lunch since we would miss breakfast. Indeed she made up a bag of of sandwiches, fruit and pastries for us to take with us.. so very nice. 

Would love to return some day to spend more time and would highly recommend this lovely place to anyone.
