Two of us stayed here for a week in Split, we weren't looking for anything fancy, just basic with a good central location so we thought this place would be perfect. 

When we arrived we had already paid a 30% deposit to the owner. He was there when we arrived and was extremely friendly and welcoming and showed us inside. He then asked us for the rest of the money which we paid via PayPal, gave us a map and showed us where we could find the nearest tourist attractions, beaches and shops which was very helpful. He then mentioned that the tap in the bathroom was broken but he would fix it that night, or the next day at the absolute latest which we were fine with. It all seemed to be just ideal for what we needed until the week progressed.

The bathroom tap never got fixed. The entire time we were there our bathroom tap did not work, we had to clean our teeth over the bathtub which was extremely annoying. We even messaged him 2 days in to ask when he would be fixing it and he just kept saying the next day, but failed to do so.

The wifi was pretty awful and it didn't work for 2 whole days, and even when it did work it was so weak and could barely load messages. 

Some of the window slats that looked out onto the public pavement were broken and with only a thin net curtain it reduced our privacy. 

The bathroom itself wasn't connected to the actual room, it was across the communal hallway which was quite annoying, and became a particularly unhygienic problem when someone (probably other guests) had stepped in dog mess and dragged it through the entire hallway, meaning we then had to dodge stepping in it every time we used the bathroom, not nice after you've had a shower, and the smell was unpleasant, not that this incident was the owners fault, but for it to remain there uncleaned for 4 days is disgusting. The bathroom also had the most temperamental lock imaginable, I locked myself in many times which was stressful and an annoyance we could do without whilst on holiday. The shower wasn't a proper shower, just a small bath tub with a shower head where we had to crouch in, pretty impossible if you are tall! 

We didn't see the owner again for the entire rest of our stay. He didn't even message to ask how our stay was, or apologize for not bothering to fix our tap.

The pros of this accommodation however are that it is an excellent location, just up a slight hill from all the central parts of Split, and near a small supermarket. The aircon was also brilliant and kept us cool in the roasting hot weather. The fridge was spacious and cool. The kitchen had lots of handy utensils for cooking. The bed was fairly comfortable with a nice looking bedroom with a tv and radio (although we couldn't get the tv to work but this wasn't really an issue for us).

Overall, we had a great holiday in Split and the location was great, it's just a shame these things let the guesthouse down. Wouldn't stay there again.



Excellent location but poor facilities were a big let down!

We booked this hotel thinking it would be great and it was reasonably priced. Unfortunately we were wrong!! Before we came to split the owner emailed me and told me he would meet me between 2 - 3 and we arrived at the hotel at 2.20 and no one was there!!! We waited for 2 hours, and no one came!! And it was super hot!!! We went to a restraint and got some internet and I messaged the owner and asked what is going on? And he said he was there at 2-3, but he failed to mention that there was a reception about 10 minutes away! And I was NEVER told this!! I went through all my emails and the hotel booking and it said nothing about reception!!! We had to wait another 40 mins before he came to the hotel! I was not impressed! After about 3 hours wasted we were finally I the hotel which didn't look too bad, the bathroom was nice and there was aircon. We tried to log onto the Internet and it would not work!! He failed to mention the the Internet only works from 8.30pm until 9am I was furious at this point!!!! The ads said there was an iron, there was a ironing board bot NO iron!! The shower had to stand so you had to hold it!! And to top it off in the middle of the night the bed broke and theatres went lopsided!! This was a terrible experience at this hotel!!! It ruined our time in split!!! And hope people read this and see what a terrible place this is!!!!
