We stayed here just a night but I wish we stayed longer. The location is perfect in the city center, the rooms are beautiful, the host was lovely. You have free coffee and tea at the reception. No elevator but that should not be an issue because everything else is perfect. 

Excellent place

My friend and I stayed for two nights, and loved it. Our room had a nice balcony. The rooms are pretty small, but enjoyable to stay in. While there were no real views, the balcony added a nice atmosphere.

Loved it

We chose this hotel based on the reviews and the very reasonable price we got it for on Easyjet holidays. Firstly I should say that we didn't actually stay in the main building, when we got there we were told we were in a bigger apartment literally around the corner, 2 mins walk away, but as that apartment is also shown on those reviews I'm posting here. 

Positives were that it was in a fantastic location (although don't bring a car!) in the old town area within 5 minute walk of both the Diocletian Palace and the Riva. Plenty of bars, restaurants and shops on your doorstep. The apartment itself was clean and modern, but still very small, so god knows how small the ones are in the main building.
 
Personally, I wouldn't stay again - its not a bad choice by any stretch but I would rather have paid more and not had the niggles we had with the place. The bed was extremely comfortable and I'm a heavy sleeper, but I was woken a number of times by scratching noises in the night. It sounded like rats or mice in the walls of the building and it kept waking me up (as you can imagine !)....there was a sonic pest control plugged into the wall which made us suspect this was indeed the case, but it also made a constant bleeping noise all night but we were too scared to remove it after hearing that. We were there out of season, but there was also a lot of noise off the street - I can imagine in summer it is extremely noisy as this apartment was directly on an alleyway, opposite a kebab shop and there are cobbles outside so anything with wheels (bins/suitcases etc) makes a lot of noise. The apartment had a little kitchenette area, with plates and a kettle etc, but no cooking facilities at all except for a microwave (fine for us, but if you did book as an apartment you'd maybe want that)...also we used the plates and cups but there was no washing facilities, beyond the bathroom and no washing up liquid was provided. We ended up having to improvise with shampoo in the bathroom. Which brings me to that...the bathroom is like a frosted glass box within the apartment, which was fine, but the shower is in a corner, with no light in it, so its very dark. That was our biggest issue with the apartment overall really was the lack of natural light. There is one small frosted window directly onto the street and so the apartment has no natural light coming in which when you're on holiday and the weather is lovely is just a bit off putting. We both noticed how that affected our moods and for that reason I don't think we'd book this place again.
Really its down to what is important to you on holiday; the price and the location are great and the apartment we had was clean and modern.

Excellent location, smart apartment, but dark and noisy

This is the fourth time we have stayed at Vila Gold on our way to Hvar. It's ideally located in the centre of the city, not far from where the catamaran leaves Split. It is clean with all the amenities you need. One thing I did note (it has always been there) on this trip was the very steep staircase. Older or less able travellers may struggle with this. 

What a fantastic location!

Villa Gold is extremely well situated. Nice view of surrounding apartments, shops and restaurants. Room small but comfortable. Perfect for short stay. Anita was super helpful and friendly. No parking on site.

Great location, room fresh and very clean.

This a a small comfortable hotel, good for a few days stay with friends and family.
Clean bed sheets and bathroom. Although the room was small, the set up was well organized. The staff were friendly and helpful. 
Really, the best part of our stay is the location.
