We stayed here as my parents were staying at a villa down the road. Really good place and fantastic value for money. Great location close to the centre of Vrboska. Welcoming staff and the fact that the owner is one of the town taxi drivers is very handy!!

Great value for money

Friendly, helpful hosts, spotlessly clean rooms, close to the towns amenities, great value! What more do you want! We are regular visitors to Vrboska, this is our first stay at Villa Welcome, and it was exactly what we needed!

Helpful and welcoming!

My wife and I enjoyed a week at the Villa at the end of July and our hosts took the usual stresses out of the holiday from the moment Slaven met us at the ferry port (holding a board with our first names on it...a nice touch). As it was about 23.00 hrs he did a short detour to show us the centre of Vrboska and pointed out some of the eateries that would still be serving food. The Villa is very close to the centre of this beautiful town and overlooks it. However, before you start thinking of steep hills, we timed the walk back from the bridge to the villa, carrying our shopping one day and it took three minutes at a leisurely pace. I think that this puts it in perspective.

Before I describe our accommodation, I have to stress that everything positive in the reviews on this site that has been written about Marijana doesn't do her justice! She's an absolute delight who goes out of her way to help with everything and really does make the whole experience so much better. From suggesting places to shop/eat/visit/bus timetables etc. she has it all sorted. As soon as we'd booked the accommodation we received emails asking for clarification about how we were travelling and the best way to get to the island, which transfer companies they recommended and a reduced rate for Slaven to collect us from Stari Grad ferry port. Marijana's that concerned for the welfare of her guests that she even reminded us to put suncream on...and we're in our fifties! So genuinely caring. When you've experienced her hospitality, you'll know exactly what I mean.  

We were in one of the triple rooms which was airy, bright and very clean. The air conditioning unit was a blessing in the 38 degree heat (!) and the en-suite was perfectly functional. Each room has its own hot water tank, so you don't have to worry about having cold showers! Now for the shared Kitchen. Usually, when self catering, we've had to manage with a double-ring stove and a kettle in some places, but this villa has the luxury of a fully functional shared kitchen with oven/hob/microwave/sink/fridge-freezers (four of them!) as well as all the pots/pans/cutlery/crockery you'll ever need! Should you wish to prepare cooked meals, you'll have no problem at all. Furthermore, there is a large patio area with numerous tables under the shade of the overhanging plants where you can eat/drink/relax. 

Beaches in Hvar tend to be of the rocky type and the nearest is an absolute gem. It's about fifteen minutes walk from the villa and is a sheltered cove of crystal-clear water. It must have a very high salt content as we found we could float effortlessly, which made for an extremely relaxing experience. Busier beaches (Soline) are slightly further away (about 30 mins on foot) and Marijana can even suggest a sunny route or a shaded one for you to get there!

Eating out isn't cheap (compared to some European destinations) but the food and service are both good. Vrboska is a quiet town and developments have been well thought-out. It is a place to relax, sit down and watch the world go by. Flotillas of yachts visit for the night and there is a busy marina. Boat taxis are available to nearby towns and the island bus service (air-conditioned coaches) can be used to get to the main towns on the island. We caught the 07:25 to Hvar for a day-trip, which took about an hour. The walk to Jelsa is along the scenic coastal road and the tarmac surface is perfectly smooth. This attracts joggers, cyclists and rollerbladers and walkers and is a lovely place to be, especially early in the morning. If the hour-long walk is too much to face on the way back...catch a water taxi and enjoy the ride!

The town of Vrboska doesn't appear to attract too many English tourists (we're English/Irish by the way) and it was refreshing not to have 'all-day breakfast' signs festooning the quayside. Similarly, we weren't disturbed by drunken behaviour of any description during our stay. I think you'll get the picture.

We had a wonderful holiday in Vrboska, much of which was down to the help from our hosts.

We staid 2 nights in this hotel and everything was perfect. Nice view from the balcony, shared kitchen available, very closed to the city center of Vrboska... and the most was the kindness of the host who welcomed us very well and gave us very precious advices... thanks for everything

Perfect!

My friend and I stayed at Villa Welcome for 3 nights in August 2016. The owners, Marijana and Slaven are caring and kind people. From the second we arrived, they went out of their way to make us feel welcome. I forgot my cell phone converter plug in, and Marijana lent me hers for a few hours every day, which I greatly appreciated. The rooms are clean and spacious and well furnished. There is plenty of hot water. We had a double seaview balcony, which had a lovely view of Vrboska. There is a full kitchen available for use, a garden terrace,and wifi. 

Vrboska is 25 km from Hvar Town. You can catch a bus in town to Hvar that takes about an hour and is cheap. Vrboska has so many beautiful little within walking distance, even nude ones, if that is what you're into. After a busy couple days touring Dubrovnik, Vrboska was a much needed relaxation break.

I would stay here again for sure. If possible, take a ferry into Stari Grad port instead of Hvar town port, it is much closer and more convenient.

Lovely Visit

I definitely have to agree with the other reviewers on the homeliness of Villa Welcome, a very neat facility in the beautiful and quiet Vrboska. Rooms are spacious (the bathroom was bigger than it looked from pictures) and, even if its definitely not a "new" house, you can feel that everything is looked after. There is a common kitchen that we never used but looked immaculate nonetheless. The host will do her best to make you at ease and give you information on the island. This is a great solution for families, given the beauty and tranquility of the surroundings. I felt that the price we paid was low compared to the quality of our time in Vrboska. The view from our room on the small town was superb and the close beach of Soline is perfect for kids (the sea and the peninsula, with pebble and rock beaches, pine trees and macchia, are also great). Only slight downside: the house would do with some external renovation and wi-fi is admittedly not working very well (that might be a structural problem in the island, honestly I didnt have the time to care about it :)).

Very high quality for price, feels like home

My family and I spent eight wonderful days on the island of Hvar.
We were accommodated in the Villa Welcome. The owner, Marijana, is very pleasant and helpful. She gave us all the necessary information about the island. Where to go, what to see ...
Accommodation is very neat. House is in a great place. The great start point for a exploring tour of the island.
I recommend this accommodation. Excellent ratio of prices and quality.
