We stayed in unit G and booked through an OTA.  This was a one-bedroom apartment with a kitchenette and living room.  Since there's so few positives, I'll start with those.  The balcony is huge with lots of room to sit and look at the ocean view, which is pretty awesome.  On the balcony is a drying rack with clothespins to hang your wet gear.  There was a BBQ on the balcony, but one day we saw a shadow lurking around outside, and when I opened the door, it was the owner removing the BBQ.  That was weird.  The fridge kept things cold and the freezer kept things frozen.  The shower was spacious and had plenty of hot water, which is not common in Curacao.  The wi-fi worked very well with a consistent signal.   The kitchenette was well stocked with dishes, utensils, and cookware.

To start with the long list of problems, the exterior of the property looks nice when driving in, but the interior was very dirty and not maintained.  The unit was filthy with pillows stained with blood and bodily fluids, and one of the twin beds was broken.  (Notice the bow in the bed and the fraying mattress in the picture attached).  The bedroom has 2 twin beds and a double bed.  The double bed was extremely hard and uncomfortable, and the mattress and box spring were very old and yellowed.  There were dead bugs everywhere and years' worth of dust and grime throughout.  The whole place has holes in the walls so that insects and a lot of heat can get in.  There's a big gap at the floor of the entry door, so there were lots of wasps, flies and bees in the unit.  We had to stuff a towel in the gap to keep the bugs out.  

The bathroom door was broken as if someone tried to break it down (see picture attached).  There's no outlet in the bathroom.  Even though it's advertised as "totally" air conditioned, there is A/C in the bedroom only, which leaves the rest of the unit very hot (85+ degrees).  There are no screens, so you can't open a window to let the heat out without inviting the insects in.  

The see-through, sheer curtains gave no privacy, and the parking lot light gives off a direct beam of light into the bedroom at night.  We had to put up towels over the windows to provide privacy and darkness for the bedroom.   By the way, we had to bring our own towels because you only get two per week, and there's no laundry facilities on site.

The rooms are nonsmoking but the property allows smoking.  So if you're trying to relax on the balcony, you get a constant cigarette or marijuana smell wafting around.  The parking area gets overcrowded and people will block you in (see picture attached). 

The walls are thin, and there's an adjoining door made of hollow core wood to the next-door unit and you could hear everything.  The unit is very poorly lit and the fluorescent light in the kitchen was blinking like a strobe light, so we had to use a lamp from the living room for the kitchen.  The kitchenette has a two-burner cooktop, but one burner would spark and short out, which was an electrical fire hazard.  The other burner would take 30 minutes to boil water.  Forget about cooking...we just used the microwave.  The chairs for the dining table were very stained and dirty.  (See attached picture)

If you want a peaceful and clean location, this is not it.  There's a party house next to this property that gets rented on the weekend, and it's constant noise with loud music and people screaming from Friday to Sunday.  There's always barking dogs and roosters going off 24 hours a day in the immediate area.

This was the worst place we've ever stayed in and was not a dream, as the name implies.   
 It should be called "My Nightmare Apartments".  This place is reminiscent of a seedy, roadside motel where you rent the room by the hour to do your dirty deeds.

Don't be disappointed and disgusted and skip this place.  It is vile.

Filthy and Unsanitary Motel--Stay Away!

The personal, friendly service from Shadforth and Miss Sonia made our stay special. The location worked for us even without a car as My Dream is situated 8 minutes walk from two nice beaches, one with freshly caught fish available to buy around mid-day, a dive shop and two bars/restaurants. There is also Bon Bimi Chinese takeout and a little drinks shop in the village a few minutes walk away. There are lost of bus stops and buses running to Willemstad and places along the route perhaps every hour, the 3A up to Knip and 7A to West Punt but we didn't actually master the timetable. The Plantation museum is a 1 k walk. You do need to do a big supermarket shop in town before you arrive as local supermarkets are a drive away and very low on fresh fruit and veg. We took a taxi from the cruise ship terminal having arrived by ship and were severely overcharged for a quick supermarket trip and the ride to Lagun, $130 US when it should have been about 8o; the airport is around 60 so be careful. Our host might be able to help. The kitchen worked well for us self-catering with a big fridge freezer. The local restaurants are nothing special so you may as well eat at My Dream and enjoy the sunsets. Local roads are very quiet and well lit if you want to take a stroll and have a drink out. Our apartment had a big bedroom with two doubles (and a single, good for people with kids?) A totally relaxing place. Enjoy the light on the sea, glimpses of jumping tuna and fishing pelicans, the iguanas, good for nature lovers. One drawback: unless you have a good head for heights and you're fit the long ladder down into the sea is too nerve-racking to use regularly but with two beaches so near it's not a big problem. The wifi was quite good; we didn't put the TV on. Fans and AC available, also parking. A midweek clean and change of sheets would have been appreciated. Curacao is generally expensive so My Dream represents value for money.

Nice hosts, lovely quiet location

We spent one week in the apartment with sea view. Just found in booking com without any recommendations. The apartment can accommodate family of four. So we had two empty beds and two occupied. 
We had bugs in the room when coming, it was disappointing but fixed immediately by the owner. So be prepared that it's tropical climate and you can observe bugs, ants, lizards, birds from time to time. 
You can see them on balcony or in the yard or anywhere. 
It was safe there, our car was staying without problem in the yard.
Stove cooking was little bit problematic for me, because it's ceramic so heating and cooling down was slow. 
Beach Playa Lagun was very nice and close to the apartment so we were going there.
Sunsets are amazing and every time different, absolutely stunning view from the balcony. 
We had nice time sitting on the balcony there. 
Rooster nearby made our morning very early. It's persistent so you have no other option but to get up.
You can swim in the sea also here, down the stairs, but stairs are steep and water is deep.
The owner was friendly and every time was interested if everything is fine. 
They have enough plates, cups etc in the kitchen so it's equipped fully. 
The bed was also very comfortable and conditioner was working.
In general it was nice apartment and comfortable staying. Just be prepared that it's not 5 star all inclusive hotel.

Good appartement with sunset view

Spent a week here.  We had an upper apartment on the ocean side.  Picturesque view from large balcony.  Spent our time when there on the deck overlooking ocean.  Nice little table to have breakfast outside.  Comes also with a couple of loungers on the deck as well as a charcoal bbq.  The inside is older but clean. Owners are great and very accommodating.  Location is great!  Close to 2 great beaches as well as several others a few kms away.  Buy your groceries at Centrum before arriving.

The best view!

This is the place for a relaxing getaway on the west side of the island, where many of the best snorkeling beaches are located. We were in the Mountain View apartment for the first few days, and then in the Ocean View on the second floor for nine days. It is worth the price difference to stay in one of the Ocean View Apartments in my opinion. There is a porch that looks out onto the ocean, the AC in the bedroom works great, the kitchen is decent.  There is a (long and steep) ladder that goes down to ocean where plenty of fish can be seen. We saw dolphins swim by and fish jumping from the balcony.  Sunsets are great too!  The owner (s) and family members are very accommodating. Would definitely recommend My Dream Apartments and hope to stay there again.

Great views, responsive owner, nice place.

We had the top apt which had a beautiful view and large porch. The downstairs two other apts also had wonderful views. We had no problems with mosquitos because we kept the bedroom door closed. The bedroom has AC which worked well. Yes there is a 2 burner electric hot place but it worked just fine.  The owner comes around almost every day and asks if all is ok and if we needed new towels etc. And yes it is a bit isolated. We actually took the bus and the owner was there when we arrived. He was kind enough to drive us to the market where we purchased groceries. Not having a car is a bit of a challenge but people are nice and I knew if we needed anything we would be able to just ask someone to let us know when going to the market but we didn't need to. My only complaint is that the stairs to the sea were broken and are going to be repaired. This really was upsetting to us because we wanted to be able to get into the water without walking the 11 minute walk to the beach having to go thru sand. But we managed and knew that it was just bad luck timing. The apt is quite large compared to ones we have stayed at in other islands. Don't expect brand new delux. But it is clean and the shower is great and actually a very large bathroom. Nothing to complain about other than not having the stairs to the sea.  Thank you Shadworth (sorry if spelled wrong) for being so kind to us.

Almost perfect and great manager/owner

Our family of 5 (2 adults and 3 kids) stayed here for a week in February 2017. I would give it a positive recommendation. 
One of the things wanted for our stay was to be ocean front and close to beaches. When I started searching, there weren't many places that were affordable until I came across My Dream Apartments. They are located right on top of the ocean cliff, within 10 minute walk of 2 beautiful beaches and a reasonable price: $125.00 CAN.
The apartment basic and clean and met all our needs for the week. 
The best way to describe this place to a Canadian they you can relate to, it would be to think of one a small independent owned motels along the Trans Canada Highway.  Clean and basic with kitchenette including hot plate, fridge and microwave; everything you need to prepare a meal. The only difference is rather than looking out onto a snow covered highway, your staring out onto the Caribbean Ocean.
The ocean is literally 20 steps out your front door. Absolutely spectacular view!    
Shadforth, the owner, was a great host. He was very attentive throughout our stay. He checked in on us a few times during the week and took great care to make sure we had everything we needed. 
I thought it was great value for the money spent! I'd highly recommended them for anyone wanting ocean front without paying high ocean front prices!
