Greeted by an elderly gentleman who was very helpful and polite. Give us our room key. We arrived into the room and it was disgusting!  The bedding hadn’t been changed from the last occupant. You could still see the shapes of their legs and feet in the duvet. The sheet was off the bed.  A room full of dust, and a stale smell. 

A lot of extras for only €87. 

This hotel is in desperate need of a refurbishment and a clean. 

I’m far from fussy, but I think cleanliness is essential. 

I refused to stay there and requested a refund. The orderly gent called the hotel owner / manager as she was offsite to be told no refund you can wait for then cleaner to sort it out in approx 30 mins.  Not good enough I am here on business and have an important meeting, I just wanted to shower and change before hand. 

5 minutes later the hotel owner decided that she doesn’t want ‘that type of customer in her hotel’ 

I was a little confused why she didn’t want a customer to have a clean room at her hotel? But ok… I’m sure it will be great as a cat sanctuary and the cleaner can finish her coffee and cigarette before having to do anything! 

Avoid this hotel / glorified cat Sanctuary. 

Check in was 14:00 I arrived at 15:30.

Avoid, dirty, smelly, rude waste of time

Stayed in the hotel for 2 weeks fantastic time lovely room and excellent staff . Looked after us very well superb breakfast, a special mention to Mehmet the night porter friendly face always smiling and a new friend. Day staff really friendly and helpful. Thank you for great stay .

Fantastic stay with a smile 😃 

Attentive and friendly staff. Nice breakfast. Rooms are small but comfortable. The hotel in general could do with a little update but functional. The location is right by the harbor. The harbour is currently under significant renovations which is clearly significantly impacting businesses in the area.

Nice location, friendly staff but could do with an update

This was our first visit to Georgia and Tblisi. We were charmed by the hospitality and personalized service offered by this hotel, it's manager and staff. The British Hotel is an excellent ambassador to tourists visiting Tblisi. Set close to the Metro Station in Rustaveli Avenue, it has a convenient location from which to explore both the Old and New Town.
Our room, on the ground floor, was spacious, and comfortably furnished. Breakfasts over the 3 days we stayed were sumptuous feasts with a variety of Georgian and European food. Tea and Coffee were available at any time. The front office staff were always ready to help with booking restaurants, calling taxis, and always informative. 
We were 4 retired friends taking a holiday together. Having done a lot of traveling, we thought nothing could overwhelm us ...but the hospitality and customer service at the British Hotel Tblisi, certainly did! We can wholeheartedly recommend it.

A wonderful boutique hotel.

There are some very mixed reviews about this place so we were really unsure what to expect.  

Check-in was super easy and our room was ready early.  The two gentlemen who run the place are super friendly and helpful, they even gave us an extra breakfast on check in.  Our room had a great view of the Mediterranean and location is very central.  Breakfast was served with a smile and eggs the way you like them.  OJ was fresh squeezed and we rarely had room for lunch afterwards.  The lobby had plenty of charm and we felt totally safe in every way.

With all that said, our experience would have been so much better if the rooms had a deep-clean first.  Things looked clean at first glance but some dust accumulation and the floors really needed a mop and bucket.

So on balance the value was good but could have been great with just a little more cleaning.  

We absolutely loved Cyprus.  Suggest renting a cat and going for a drive, don’t let yourself get stuck in the tourist ghetto around the harbour all day.

Fabulous Harbour View

Fortunately we only stayed for one night on 4th June. Kettle and water in our room but no tea, coffee, sugar or milk. First ask provided  tea bags, second ask provided a coffee sachet and  sugar cubes. Third time i went to reception and on the way I slipped on wet marble stairs that had just been moped and fell straight onto my Coccyx. No wet floor sign! Very painful but could have been worse. Offered free drink by the man in charge, yet they can't invest in basic health & safety signage!!! Complained to whom i assume was the lady owner, no response as of 7th June. Never again.

Lacking supplies and no regard for guest safety

Stayed there once - never again.    Absolutely terrible.     Paid for a deluxe room overlooking the harbour, and ended up with noisy room over the reception entrance.    Beds were extremely uncomfortable, skirting boards falling off the walls, breakfast was disgusting.    Cold and damp, no lights on  - I assume to save electric.     Probably the worst hotel I've ever stayed in, and also expensive for what it was.    When I complained to the owner he made excuses - we booked for 3 nights but left after the first night.

Very clean, and very good prices, there was a good selection of food available for breakfast, stunning view s overlooking the beautiful harbour. We will definitely stay there again.  Walking distance to  everywhere. We parked  up are car and didn't need it for the two day stay.

My partner and I stayed here for three nights.  We booked it last minute and were not disappointed.  The location is ideal if you want to be within a stone's throw away from kyrenia harbour.  It is a small establishment with very polite staff.  Our room was clean and sweet.  There were two balconies, both with sea or side sea view.  The breakfast was traditionally Turkish, buffet style.  We have stayed in kyrenia on numerous occasions and as much as we enjoy five star establishments it is also nice to experience the quaint ottoman style hotels that still exist and hope they continue to thrive.  I enjoyed it's old charm and the cobbled street is is situated on.  A good place to base yourself if you want to be in the hub of harbour activities.  Many bars and restaurants, live music, shops etc, all walking distance.  We arrived early morning and were given access to our room so we could freshen up.  This was appreciated.  I found the reception to be helpful in all ways and enjoyed our time there.

We have just returned from a very enjoyable sixteen night stay in the British. Whilst it may not be the most luxurious hotel in town, it more than makes up for it with its location and friendly staff, the manager in particular who could not have been more helpful and charming. The gentleman who provided the breakfast service and the night porter too also deserve a positive mention, as does the lady responsible for the rooms which were always in perfect order on our return each day. It was well worth paying the extra for a third floor room, and ours (room 301) came with an enormous balcony and a beautiful view over the harbour and castle one way, and over towards the mountains the other way. Breakfast was perfectly adequate for our requirements, consisting of a selection of cheeses, cooked meats, tomato, cucumber, olives and yoghurt along with a selection of juice and fresh fruit. This was complemented by a plate of toast, eggs to your requirements and tea or coffee. There were a couple of minor issues with a failed balcony light, faulty TV and poor drainage from the shower, all of which were rectified promptly once reported. The rooms were rather dated but clean, and the aircon was super efficient which was just as well since it was red hot day and night. The water pressure especially on the top floor where we were was pretty poor but just about acceptable nonetheless and probably down to the age of the hotel and the length of time since it's had a major overhaul. But aside from what for us were these minor niggles, it more than makes up for it in terms of old school charm and location being just a matter of yards from the old harbour front. 'Boutique' hotel it may not be, but we would definitely stay here again without hesitation
