We stayed there for one night after a trek in Trodoos mountains.
A really comfortable and relaxing place, views are great, not so expensive if compared to other places in Platres.. food is nice. we also ordered lunch there and enjoyed it a lot.

I have stayed at the Spring several times over the last few years to escape the heat of Larnaca... it is clean, quiet and friendly and great value for money, the people running it are friendly and welcoming .. at night you hear nothing but the water running in the stream below and nightingales in May/June... see you next year..

A little piece of heaven

I’ve just spent 6 nights at The Spring Hotel in Platres and it provided everything I was looking for...and more.
I wanted peace, solitude, a beautiful location in the heart of nature and the opportunity to hike in the local forest and mountain area.  I got all of this and, in addition, I got:
- a beautifully-furnished, clean, comfortable, en-suite double room with a balcony looking out over the forest, with the sound of birdsong and running water from the nearby spring
- delicious home-prepared meals made by Mary (her Moussaka and stuffed vine leaves are unrivalled!)
- all the information I needed about local hiking routes, in a free printed-out guide, with accommpanying map
- an invitation to join Mary & her husband when they visited the annual festival in nearby Omodos, where they treated me to a range of delicious food products made in the local area!
- thoughtful care and hospitality that was greatly appreciated, eg: (i) I asked if I could sit in a different part of the dining room to eat breakfast on my second day, for a better view of the forest, and this then became my allocated table for the rest of my stay; (ii) When I arrived at breakfast on my last day 5 minutes early, Mary already had everything prepared for me, because she knew I wanted to catch the early bus in Platres

The village of Pano Platres is within easy walking distance (less than 1km) and has a supermarket, post office, numerous cafés, restaurants and souvenir shops, as well as daily buses to Limassol and Troodos and a taxi firm.

The Spring Hotel has an old-world charm that I loved and I’m amazed it only has a one-star rating.  In terms of value for money and hospitality I think it would be hard to beat.

If you want a great room with a beautiful view from both the window and the balcony, ask for No 7!

I was sorry to leave...

After repeat holidays here I can highly recommend this family run hotel, now fully refurbished, with en- suite bedrooms, a large sunny dining room and off road car parking.  Attentive and considerate family members have exceptional knowledge of the area, which is so helpful to have when planning your day. The rear bedrooms have wonderful views through the pine trees, listen to the sound of the crystal clear spring water flowing past the hotel- hence the name, "Spring Hotel"  and drift off to sleep listening to the sweet song of the Nightingale, yes, Nightingales! I had never seen or heard a Nightingale until my first holiday at the hotel and it is such a pleasure to return to the Spring, to the peace and tranquility and to the warm family welcome.

A lovely traditional family run hotel, a short walk from pretty Platres village.
