Booked a suite on booking .com. When we got there we were met by the "owner", an elderly chap, who insisted we pay him a further 32 euros before we could check in. We had no cash, it was late at night after just having drove from Croatia, a total of 8 hours with 2 young children. We had to go looking for an ATM so we could withdraw cash to pay him, just so we could get in the room. The chap was so argumentative and would not allow us to let my wife and children into the room whilst i went in search of said ATM. Rooms absolutely stunk of mold, beds were moist as was the bedding. We were very grateful to leave. The photos on the website are nothing like reality. Its a sham e as it could be really nice with a little bit of investment and a change of owner. This was supposed to be a highlight in our European travels, and Cesky Krumlov itself did not disappoint, however the Pension Zamecka did. I would also say they are not Castle apartments, just an old building that has seen better days. In the bathroom was a fridge and a kettle, the electrics were all taped up to stop water getting in and electrocuting yourself. Not safe at all. The owner really needs to retire as he does not compliment the pension at all. Rude, arrogant and argumentative. I am sure there are better places to stay than this dump. His son needs to take over the running of the pension. I met him the next morning and he seemed to be really nice, and English, i presume, which i thought was odd. Anyway i would give this place 1 star and thats being kind. Avoid at all costs.

Great Town, Awful Pension

The place itself is lovely, conveniently located to most attractions. The problem is that the management seems to need some adjustments. It took us one hour and a half to check in, and we were finally given the wrong room. I don’t believe the place has 400 rooms, so I find it really odd that after having us sit while the receptionist sorted out these 4 rooms we needed, he managed to get them wrong. The receptionist was a young man and seemed to struggle a lot with his tasks. Maybe he was new to the job, maybe he was an apprentice. I don’t know, but it all felt unprofessional. He said he was sorry for the delay and the mistakes and that there would be some compensation. I’m still waiting.

Not the most welcoming place

Nice accomodation in the great location - directly in the historical center. We had 3 apartments (2x4persons and 1xdeluxe apartment for 2). The rooms were tidy and clean and well furnished. The staff was very pleasant and helpful. The breakfast was really good. The parking is 5 minutes by walk. We were really satisfy and recommend this accomodation.

Nice accomodation in the great location

just located in front of the entrance of the castle. reception is in the information center at the castle entrance, the apartment and the reception not in the same place but only few steps away. 
the room is big enough for 3-4 persons and it's comfortable . the staff in the reception is friendly and helpful, breakfast is good!

the only issue is no elevator inside so better not take big luggages.  you can park car at a brewery called "eggenburg" nearby then take  5-6 mins walk to the reception , parking fee is about 10 euros a day which can pay at reception. 
 I recommend this apartment to visitors to cesky krumlov , nice and convenient  place for a short stay.

非常棒的地點就在城堡的入口..前台和房間不再同一個地方但是就對面走幾步路的距離..可以把車停在飯店附近的啤酒廠的停車位然後走個5-6分鐘到前台CHECK-IN, 他們會給停車卡..停車是一天10歐左右..唯一的缺點是公寓沒有電梯要自己搬行李喔

great location and comfortable apartment

Excellent location 2 minutes away from the castle. Spacious room with comfy bed and amenities like fridge and electric cattle. Breakfast was good. If I had any objection it would be staff. They could be nicer.

Comfortable place a stone's throw from the castle.

My room was small and not updated.  It had no amenities and no staff.  It was up a spiral staircase with no elevator.  The stairs were dangerously small.  The bathroom was terrible and the towels were nonexistent.  The place looked out to a back garage.

We stayed here for 1  night..we got off the bus and was only  a short walk to the castle apartments..Staff very friendly for booking into our room and was only a few steps from the castle..although we had to climb steps to our room was only on second floor..room was spacious..bed very comfortable..lots of hot water in shower..wifi very good..breakfast for ample..a great place to stay..centrally located to everything
