The baked potatos were actually deep fried, not good, very oily. Beer tasted like ****. Meal for vegetarians was drained in oil and they forgot one meal so we had to wait for like 20 minutes more for food. Dumplings with caggabe were also in oily soup. I do not recommend this restaurant..

Ehhhh just not good

Bouda Máma is a cute small pension with a new 4* hotel in a separate building (but connected by an underground hall). It is quite far from the bus station but the first and the last day of your stay they take you by their car for free (and any other time for 200 CZK). The check in goes smooth and quick and the staff is nice and polite. We had a room in the pension, which was surprisingly nice, modern and comfortable. Ask for the room in the corner of the building - in this room, we had three windows and a view from two different sides of the hotel. From the windows we saw beautiful nature and heard the Úpa river just below the hotel's location. The room is partially wooden which feels really cozy and also very clean. There was lots of space to put our luggage, a big wardrobe and a table with chairs as well as a big and comfortable bed. There is lots of space for your stuff. The bathroom was also great, just the sink was quite shallow and the placement of the battery could have been better. There is also a TV with a few Czech and lots of German channels. There is no AC but since we visited in May we didn't need it. The halls of the pension always smelled really nice. The restaurant was quite typical for Krknonoše - a wooden pub with big tables and benches. It was only full one day when there was a group on trip, other days it was much more comfortable. Both breakfasts and dinners are buffet style but during dinner you order your drinks separately and pay for them - they make great homemade lemonades. The dinners are small, usually around three versions of meal plus pizza, soup, one sweet dish as dessert and some vegetables. It's mostly unhealthy and fat Czech cuisine and it's quite pub like, so expect fried potatoes, greasy meats, creamy sauces and dumplings. It could be of a better quality, but for a few dinners it's okay. During breakfast there are always hot options like eggs, sausages and porridge and also fresh fruit. Definitely have some of their traditional sweet Czech pastry and coffee - it's incredible, even through it's just from a coffee machine. We also had free access to the hotel pool, whirlpool and sauna. Pool is deep and just the right temperature and the whirlpool is big, although quite cold. We really enjoyed our time there and there were little to no people with us there. I really recommend paying for the hotel wellness, which is really nice and cozy. It includes multiple saunas and other heated relaxing rooms, a big whirlpool and other fun procedures. The first half of our stay there we were completely alone, sadly after an hour a group of quite loud ladies came there. It's a shame that the Kneipp's bath only allows you to fill two out of the four water tanks at once, so you can't really walk around as it's intended. The saunas are really hot, especially the colorful one and the Finish sauna, which was around 90 C and no one was able to stay there. But the whirlpool is quite cold. Definitely take some time to visit the relaxation room with a starry sky. You won't go wrong with ordering a massage either, just know that at the massage table, there are armrests underneath the table. I didn't notice them and my shoulders suffered a lot trying to stay on the narrow table. 

Great stay at Bouda Máma

Used to be a decent hotel, but on the last visit,  everything seemed worse. Unfriendly service, low quality food, bans of everything everywhere. What a pity for what would otherwise be an ok experience with a pool, co Whirpool and sauna wellness zone

Bad food and bad service

The guy at the reception surely can be more nice to customers and should at least pretend that he likes his job and you are welcome. But the rest of the stuff is OK, Changing room at swimming pool and sauna should have lockable cabinets instead of open space.
The food was in normal quality, beer from local brewery excellent, room very good, sleeping quality ecxellent.
Máma is placed on a strategic point for tourists.

Bouda Máma is almost excellent, just a few details

I have been the 2nd time at Bouda Mama hotel this year. The room in the Wellness hotel was clean and comfortable. The surrounding of the facility is wonderful, you can make several walks or trips to surrounding nature, to Snezka etc. Personnel is kind and prepared to help. The local own  brewery offers great quality own brewed beers (Pecky pivovar). Meal is great, breafast offers a wide range of choice, same for dinner. You can play bowling, billiard and darts if you wish, available also sports facility - indoor squash court, table tennis, outdoor tenis groud with good quality surface. At hotel you have available small pool with jacuzzy and a great wellness area with different saunas. In winter there is a shuttle to the surrounding skiarea. Also a room for children is available.

NIce nature, great accomodation and service

Decent place to stay at. Location aside is suitalbe for those not keen on nightlife. 
We stays at the hotel part, which is ok, but surely not the stars level the owner claims. Rooms not extraordinary spacious, though ok for a few nights.Housekeeping was somewhat behind with our room being made up once during our 4 nights stay. We found this for a place being claimed as hotel somewhat disappointing.
On the other hand food was very tasty with a good selection and self service concept. Very friendly rand helpful estaurant personnel. Helpfulness was on the other hand not the best treat at the reception area. Reception staff seemed not too customer oriented.
Overall ok, however lightly overpriced vs the value received.

Extended summer weekend with friends

Staff working on Máma makes the stay really pleasant. Weakest point Is certainly 3* breakfast. Here we expected more plus having few 12Y old drinks in the bar will be also well appreciated. But wellness which we had completely for ourselves Is awesome. Clean And softly smelling premises incl. Whirlpool And all saunas were just cool 😋

Bouda Máma is very good. Changing few details can make it perfect.

Very good food (above average), quick and friendly staff, the place is surprisingly suitable for big party with your group of friends (no problem to carry on till early hours if you wish) but at the same time you can spend a nice holiday there with your family children included.
