I can only agree with the negative assessment!!! I have been visiting the meadow buildings for 48 years! Even with a dog! What is happening there now is a shame. The gas chamber should not be accessible to me anymore? How many soups and golden portions have I eaten there after a foggy rainy hike. I sat at the giant tables to warm and dry. The tallest and largest giant mountain building is now a flop? After such a long tradition? I will personally write a letter to Pec. Please help with your opinion to stop these unfriendly and impossible developments!

Very bad

I can only join the review of Dream Pair 2018. We have known the meadow building for at least 40 years and a stop during the hike was always a great thing, just a real raw giant mountain building. Today we decided to visit the meadow building again after 4 years and were more than disappointed. The restaurant does not open until 5 pm and it was referred to the buffet. This actually reminds us of Mc Donalds, loveless establishment, self-service and SB box. The summit was the beer, of course itself just popping in the map... but if I read the previous review I think we have missed nothing at the restaurant as well.

The very last.

For over 30 years I have been regularly visiting the Lucni Bouda, but since this year's visit I have decided not to go there again. This has nothing to do with a building in the Giant Mountains, as I understand it, nothing more. Everything is still fast, fast, fast and unfriendly there are on the agenda. You have to get hired and get assigned a place (although many places are free), there are only 3 main dishes left. After ordering the food comes after 2 minutes (probably always freshly prepared😳) and you should pay as quickly as possible to get the places free again. The prices are very high compared to other buildings and the SBell restaurant is very similar to a Mcalu D... in the mountains (with commands).

Owner invests to this once almost ruin, I have to admit that.
Public areas were nice and need.
But, why do not you offer a quality food if you want charge so much?
Balance it, your earnings vs. satisfied customer.

Overpriced average quality food.

Beer Paroháč / means deer or husband with unfaitful wife/ is really nice experience. Could be goal of the trip to Lučni chata / cottage on the meadow/. There is local browery where they produce their own beer consumed only in the cottage. Make a walk there and visit also other parts of Krkonose.

We were there for 5 days in the week before Christmas. To our surprise we were the only guests of the night who were announced upon arrival. We had a room with a great view of the snow cap, which was wonderful. Since we were the only ones for breakfast in the morning (including the price of the night), we got something like a table buffet with everything that the heart desired: roasted rice (Czech horn), sausages, cheese plates, cheese plates, cheese plates, salad, pastries, and if you wanted more eggs.

In awful weather it was like to find a hidden gem :) Big (almost) sustainable hut with great service - in a first floor there is a restaurant and buffet. We were lucky and found free table. Even when the place was crowded the waiters were nice and quick and food was really good. Prices were all right.

The biggest building on the Giant's Mountain is not uncomfortable because of this. The restaurant area is a drinking room, as is the custom in the Czech Republic. But we felt very comfortable here. But it's very crowded at noon and you have to be lucky. When you've got a table, the efforts are rewarded by really good Czech food. Only the sausage tasted to no one. But in Eastern Europe, sausages are not to be compared to the Thuringian ones. The beer itself was genius. Four varieties are available for the home brew, light, dark, black and IPA. They tasted all four. If we hadn't wandered further, we would have had to eat here delicious sausages.

Good food and your own beer

This was my third visit at Luční bouda this year and it was the last ever. Every visit there brought some problem. The quality of the food is very low especially for the prices. Ok, one would say they use lack of competition. But most of the personel was everytime troublesome, made you wait eternity to order or was even unfriendly. My last expirience is when I came totally wet because of a storm and because of the lightnigs outside there was really no choice. Nevertheless I asked if they have a shoe dryer as walking many more miles in wet shoes did not seem a good idea. The waitress said they have none but they could lend me a hairdryer. My spirits rose and I was about to forgive them some low quality service if the guy who was supposed to lend me the hairdryer did not say that he was not going to lend the hair dryer to me as I was not accomodated at Luční bouda. There is no other bouda in a mile or so. It made my terrible expiriende complete I wish you to avoid Luční bouda both for food as well as for accomodation.

Visited at June 2019 in the Sunday afternoon. Staff offered local beer produced here. Very interesting experiednce to sit here, in the beautiful interior, drink a beer and see the highest mountain of the Czech republic through the window. The staff was also very kind and very friendly and shortly talked with us. Very good experience.
