I stayed at U Ceske Koruny for one night. 

The receptionist was nice, I have no complaints to make. She greeted me warmly, showed me around the ground floor and briefly explained the check-out process. 

I was pleasantly surprised to find out there were free water and coffee dispensers for guests at the lobby.

I was given room number 9. While the room itself was fine, quite spacious and had all the basic amenities, unfortunately it had no view, so the two medium-sized windows were useless at that point. In front of them, terribly close, was a bleak wall. The TV had plenty of channels to choose from, in Czech and Polish. The Wi-fi was very fast!

The breakfast (served from 7:30 until 9:30 if I'm not mistaken) was downstairs in the basement. There was nobody at the entrance, just a table on which was placed a list of rooms and, next to each, space for a signature. The selection of products was rather dissatisfying, but the breakfast was NOT bad - my cereals with milk and a bun with honey and butter were delicious, in fact. I simply am of the opinion that it lacked in variety, there could be a bit more to choose from (+ I suggest adding more lactose-free and vegan products). If you enjoy a fancy breakfast, just visit one of the many amazing cafeterias nearby instead. 

Overall, I enjoyed my stay, so if I ever return to Hradec Kralove, I'll probably visit U Ceske Koruny again.

I spent one night this autumn at this hotel. The hotel is spotless, the bathroom was impeccable, and the breakfast was excellent. The food was so tasty. The hotel is very well maintained.
The only disadvantage: there is no lift in the building. But lovely receptions helped me and carried my luggage to the second floor. Thank you again!

Very good hotel

Quaint old Hotel situated one street back from Old Town Square. Great location to walk around the central city and along the river. Plenty of restaurants and bars nearby, as well as tourist attractions.
Large room which would have accommodated a whole family. Very roomy and comfortable with excellent bed and good bathroom.Everything spotlessly clean. Very little street noise.
Good breakfast with plenty of options, served in cellar room.
This hotel is very good value for money.

Lovely Old Hotel in Old Town

The room we stayed in was more like an appartment with two floors, with a kitchenette, a dining table for four, a sofa and TV, and an extra bed on the first floor; a double size bed on the second floor. The room as well as the bathroom and the hallway were spacious. The only disadvantage of staying during hot summer days is that there is no airco and the room is located under the roof - with all windows opened it was quite hot before the sunset, but there was a fan in the room that helped a bit. At the breakfast the choice of food was great. Overall, absolutely great experience.

Excellent stay in the heart of Hradec Kralove

Very good choice. The location is perfect in the center with a lot of restaurants and pubs in the surrounding streets. Rooms are big, even some of them with small kitchen as an apartment. Breakfast is enough. Bad points are parking that is not indicated where to park when you arrive after reception hours, and the reception hours that are very limited, only until 7:00 pm that is very short time.

Well choice

The hotel frontage looks uninviting (only needs brightening up) and there is a derelict house next door....but this hotel is a medieval building and the interior is in excellent condition. Not for guests with disabilities, no lift and 41 steps to the top floor. Lots of original features remain, the spacious breakfast room in arched brick cellar was a nice surprise. There is another cellar under that which has no guest access but looks interesting! The breakfast selection was excellent. No staff there 24/7 but will come when needed. Nice small touches..like tissues provided in the room and public areas, extra towels/toilet rolls available on a help yourself basis on the landing for example. Late checkout can be arranged at extra cost. Our room at the back (with Velux windows and no air conditioning) would be hot in summer. No traffic noise but there is one busy pub next door, and another 20m away so rooms at the front may be affected.
Pass key for the room also gives access for the front door, and we each had our own which was very useful. These can be left in the mail box on checking out, no need to involve staff.

Better than expected.

This hotel is located one street behind the main square in the old town which is a 20 minute walk from main railway station. it is in a very old quaint building. On arrival ring the intercom and someone will open door to you, there is no reception as such.
Rooms are good but some have low beams, comfortable beds and good spacious bathroom. You go down into the basement cellar area for breakfast which was good for the price. We did not have much dealings with the staff as only stayed for the one night.
One tip if you go onto main square there is an information office with helpful staff to assist you.

Good budget hotel

This is a small but well run hotel in a strategic position. The breakfast is plentiful and the rooms well appointed and clean. There is wifi and a satellite TV.Initially we had trouble with the wifi but the hosts did all that they could to rectify the situation.

The perfect location

The hotel is situated in the very heart of the city center. There is no reception, but you ring the bell and they'll come and open for you. Rather big room in an old rustic house. No AC, which is a problem in summer. A decent breakfast is included in the price as well as a complimentary parking in a parking house a few hundred metres away. The service was friendly and the room price was reasonable.

A good budget option

The hotel is situated one street back from the main square, and so is generally quiet (although the front rooms do get some noise from the bars/cafes and a student hostel) - there is no air-con so it is necessary to have the window open in the summer.

Our room was spacious, well laid out with plenty of wardrobe and drawer space, and a large bathroom. The hotel provides little tubes of shampoo and shower gel. The room is only cleaned every second day.

Breakfast is good - a fair selection of breads, cereal, yoghurts, fresh fruit and fruit juices. There is a limited choice of hot food, but tasty.

The very odd thing about the hotel is the reception team - they are generally rude, unhelpful and rarely there! When we arrived we rang the bell to get in (it was 1pm) and the receptionist said she was having her lunch so come back in an hour! We apologised for disturbing her and went off for a beer quite happily. However this then set the tome for our whole visit. Our safe didn't work -and the receptionist was very rude and carried on reading her book (luckily the handyman came to my rescue). 
We did not see the reception manned other than when breakfast was being served next to it (and that staff member said she was nothing to do with reception) and we were in and out of the hotel a few times each day. ll very odd!
