We stopped here for lunch after hiking with our family. Several waiters were working, but no one offered to help us. One waitress said “No!” to us as we walked near a table that was prepared... probably it was reserved, but then she walked away without offering a different table.

 So, we chose an empty table, but still one offered to help us. The only visible menus were on prepared table nearby. There were 4 menus there, so I turned my chair to look at one. I did not walk away with the menu, I remained next to the table, holding it just above where it had been placed.

I was shocked when, instead of offering to help me, a male waiter walked over to me and slapped my hand. I assured him that I was only looking at the menu, but he defended his choice to slap me and said that “sometimes it is better to ask first.” He then briskly handed me a different menu and stalked away. 

I realize that moving the menu may have bothered the wait staff, but they seemed too busy to help us and we were merely trying to decide what to order, so that we could be paying customers. We were also traveling with two very young children who were hungry.

After this incident, we walked to a different restaurant less than 50m away and were served by a very nice young gentleman who immediately offered us tables and menus before we had to ask. 

We have lived in the Czech Republic for a few years now, and I know the service here is known for being brisker than in America, but this was not merely brisk behavior. This waiter crossed a line.

The waiter slapped my hand

We had lunch here during our tour of the Saxon Switzerland National Park and it was a great experience. The food was delicious, service wonderful.  They have indoor and outdoor sitting and if you have kids with you there is an animal themed playground right in front of the restaurant. From the restaurant we took a hike down the mountain to the river to continue our tour.  Great day and we were all glad that we stopped here for lunch.  Great choice, don't miss it.

Great Food and an Inviting Atmosphere

This place is above Hrensko if the bus us running it stops right in front of penzion.  But well worth the trip up.  The picnic tables were perfect.  The view beautiful and peaceful.  If you have children they have the perfect play ground for children.  The people that own and work here were amazing and so responsive and helpful.  They spoke perfect English which was a big help for us.  The also spoke German and Czech.  We spent one night here and so happy we did! Worth the trip. The food was like eating a really great home cooked meal. Delicious and hot! Perfect.

Bike ride Prague to Dresden

We visited this place as a part of the tour to Saxon Switzerland National Park, to have lunch. The pork fillet was mouth watering and the vegetable salad with feta cheese was yummy. Don't miss the grilled potatoes with sour cream. Beer and coffee were good too..

Great food and service

Staff & owner very accommodating and friendly. The Penzion Na Vyhlidce is in perfect location to walk dawn the steps to take a boat ride on the river/stream Kamenice either on the  Wild Gorge, or Edmunds Gorge which ends in Hrensko, a little quaint town, totally restored after floods and years of neglect.  The Area around the Gorges is protected national park area & well worth making the boat ride either way.  Walking back up the steps to Penzion Na Vyhlidce is for fit and agile individuals.  
I really liked the pleasant and friendly atmosphere in the Penzion, breakfast is included and in my opinion a good value. Multilingual staff helps to ease the hurdle of communication.

Delightful Bed & Breakfast in Mezna

We arrived in the evening, unannounced and with a dog. The owner was very nice and gave us a good price. There is a decent restaurant downstairs with very friendly staff, although their english could be better. Definitely recommended!

Comfy beds in a great location

The penzion is in a wonderful location - in Hrensko-Menza which is decidedly less touristy than the village of Hrensko itself (just a few km away) situated at the crossroads of the walking trails through the gorge and the stone arch. The staff speak English, German and Czech and were always friendly and helpful with a good sense of humour. My room was perfectly equipped with everything I needed (shower, toilet, TV, wifi) and was very comfortable. A definite recommendation for a few days of outdoor activities, well balanced with a good menus and a terrace throughout the afternoon and evening.
