This place is disgusting. Woke up with bed bug bites all over my arms and body and discovered bed bug stains all over the pillows inside the pillow case. On top of that the shower was full of mold on the corners. The price and location may seem attractive, but it is not worth it one bit. Absolutely horrible and disgusted by the bed bugs. As the title mentions, please do not stay here.

DON’T STAY HERE

The hotel service was terrible, the staff were rude and not helpful at all!! The room was noting special at all and not even so clean. The location was ok, but scary at night because it was close to many bars and you would see drunk people everywhere. Their Wifi connection was terrible!! We had a bad experience generally.

The worst place to stay in Prague!!

After having been assured by email that someone would meet us when I and my two friends arrived at 8pm, we instead found a locked door with a locked security metal cage. We then had to brave the overseas charges to call their emergency number to get into the place, but nobody picked up... After three tries and using three different numbers we eventually got through to a suitably unfriendly voice which gave us instructions on how to get in. 

Upon getting to the room we found a crowded bunkbed system and three incredibly nice Spaniards, who, fortunately, saved the day. They gave us city maps, tips on where to change money and the wifi password, when I'm sure this is usually the responsibility of the hostel staff...

Despite feeling slightly cramped, the beds were very nice and the lack of air-conditioning was made up for by a cool August night - I dread to think what June might have been like... The bathroom, however, was a different story: it reeked of piss, housed leaky showers and was generally in a sorry state. Manky, old towels had been left piled up (fortunately we brought our own travel towels) and the only member of staff we saw, the cleaner, merely straightened the sheets the Spaniards had been using. Nothing was cleaned...

In the morning the Spaniards left and gave us their keys and padlocks for storing our bags in crates; not very secure but better than nothing. (I didn't feel particularly safe in this neighbourhood.) Again, I was amazed by our luck and the complete absence of staff and their responsibilities.

On Sundays the reception doesn't open, so no contact with the hostel again. The ridiculous opening hours for reception (10am-2pm) are completely incompatible with their demand that check out be before 10am. Amazingly, we were able to leave on Monday morning without paying a late check out fee, but not after the receptionist had turned up 20 minutes late...

I will not be returning to Residence V Tunich 14 and I'm sad to say it has slightly tainted my experience of a brilliant city.


You could find better.

A great price for this hostel, and fantastic service.  Rooms equipped with lockers, padlocks and chains supplied free of charge at reception.  The hostel occupies former flats, with two bedrooms and a shared kitchen area each - so the rooms are only used for sleeping, not socialising, which makes for an undisturbed night.  During my stay, everything was spotlessly clean; the bathrooms were the best I've ever seen in a hostel.  Central location, easily walkable from Wenceslas Square.  Many restaurants in the immediate vicinity. Highly reccomended.

Great price, location, facilities, service

It is basic, but the price is amazing, so there is really nothing to complain about. The place is clean and the staff is friendlier; only the showers could be a little more practical, but apart from that, there is noting bad to say.
