It was a visit to the area of Spindlermill, and we were hungry! After booking a parking lot, and crossing the White Bridge, we sat down and on the bank of the river and enjoyed an excellent meal and drink.

That's nice.

We stayed with 4 people in the Herman boarding house. The rooms were simply furnished, but everything was very clean. During the day we walked through the Giant Mountains and in the evening we strengthened ourselves again with the delicious food in the boarding house (it was a must to try shrimp and golasses). It was very worth it and we will definitely be back!

Very cozy and delicious food

we visited last summer (2014) and enjoyed a great meal; their garlic soup is unsurpassed, wonderfully garlicky, very very very good. I haven't been able to recreate it at home.
The day we went there was a very hot one, but with a nice tall Urquell life gets really comfortable really quickly.
We didn't spend the night, as we had a rent-a-cabin down the road. But friends of ours back home (The Netherlands) recommended this place.

Very nice hostel at a good and fair price. Very friendly staff for Czech conditions, all of whom gave a competent impression. The rooms are not modern, but clean. Wlan was everywhere in the hotel. But the highlight was the restaurant. Very good food, we all three tasted very, very good.

Clean room and super restaurant

In this house prevails especially good cuisine. Accommodation is its national average but clean and nice. The house is suitable for families with children and small pets. We also recommend attend some events. Owner reliable and professional.

Nice place to stay

Stayed at Herman from Dec30-Jan2 2013. I'd say it is a great place to stay for the money.

Drivable distance to both Janske Lazny and Shpindleruv Mlin(~25min). There wasn't a big variety for breakfast, but all food tasted good, coffee is not instant, bagels are fresh, there is meat sausages and granola cereal. Stuff is very helpful and maintain "at home" atmosphere. If you come to the restaurant for dinner there is a wide selection of dishes and the pork knee we had was delicious.

Minor note to make, is that starting breakfast at 8am is not very flexible for those who want to catch fresh snow and start skiing beforeor at  9am...drive,park, rent, put skiing boots on...etc.

Room was clean, light and and rather big, the only thing that bothered us was heater. We could hardly get the temperature in the room to rise above 20C (even with bathroom door open, there was a towel heater that actually worked better than the one by the bed). Think the best result we achieved was 21C and the worst was 17C~equal hallway, happened once at night, when both heaters stopped working for 3-4 hours. Our room was on the last floor, number 11. Possible the situation is better if room is sandwiched between the two floors, however the temperature during our stay has not fallen lower than minus three.

Good value for money, a homey place

We stayed in Pension Herman for 3 days. Our room was spacy and comfortable and the owner was very helpful and knowledgeable about all sorts of activities. Very clean. He even drove us to skiing slopes. The restaurant serves both Czech and International kitchen, food was tasty and we enjoyed it very much. Definitely value worth the money.
