Probably one of the worst restaurants me and my family visited. Even after few years we weren’t able to forget our horrible experience. Despite the big variety of desserts other courses were rather disappointing. Even time didn’t erase this terrible memory.

NOT THE BEST

We spent a week at the Hotel Karl, in an apartment in February 2017. It was very clean and had a very good size for 3 people and a dog. There was also a large refrigerator in the hotel. TV is also available with many channels (some also in German and English). The staff was always very friendly and helpful. Besides Czech, German/English and Spanish are spoken. Breakfast was good. There were also various egg variants freshly prepared. Also otherwise the food in the hotel restaurant tastes very good. Very friendly. Very good and quietly located for skilang running (direct to a few minutes of Loipe and several hiking trails, which are well suited for running in the forest) We would definitely also have a free parking space in the forest.

Very nice winter vacation

We've already spent four winter vacations here, which really says it all. Mrs. Karlova and her daughters serve us so kindly and attentively every year again. Chef Mr. Karl's food is spicy and varied. The rooms are very spacious and clean. The total package is also available at a super, super, super affordable price. The parking is included for hotel guests.

Super friendly family business

The hotel is a very good starting point for hiking in the north of the Bohemian Forest. The service is simple and friendly. In the restaurant you can eat bourgeois Bohemian, Czech. The breakfast is rich and provides a good basis for a day of hiking. Failure: the mattresses should make for a sensitive back. Overall, however, the price-performance ratio is correct

Cheap, easy as a walker's hotel

Okay, the room is spacious (2 separate rooms + SdB), but throwing a bedcloth that dates from the Sarajevo bombing (since we celebrate 100 years) on the couch is not really good taste. It's also not good taste to offer a 36 cm TV with a cathode ray tube that dates from the night of the Sarajevo bombing, but it's clearly not. Okay, the room is spacious (2 separate rooms + SdB), but throwing a bedcloth that dates from the Sarajevo bombing (since we celebrate 100 years) on the couch isn't really good taste. It's also not good taste to offer a 36 cm TV with a cathode ray tube that dates from the night of the Sarajevo bombing, but it's clearly not. Okay, the room is connected to a satellite box whose chip function has been removed (dispossible security) and that you can't claim an extra 22h since there's no more reception. - There's no more to say that it's not - It's not too much to say - It's not too much to say that it's taken away from

I could really do better.

By chance I discovered the Hotel Karl in Zelezna Ruda. It was a couple of great days in the very beautifully located and well maintained house. Very good German staff, beautifully decorated rooms, Bohemian cuisine and a breakfast of the finest. Excursion options are abundant by bicycle, horse carriage or pedestrian. Especially for families, but also for seniors who can enjoy wandering in the beautiful Bohemian forest. I know that I will see the nice team Karl, as well as the nearby mystical Devil's lake hotel again!!!

A few beautiful days...

It's a very nice village hotel with a kindly and accommodating staff! and agreeble environment. The rooms are clean, practical and beautifull. The meal is excelent too. We are very pleasent to visit it! 


A big satisfaction

We have spend second  year  4 nights in this hotel and I must say, it we were very satisfied.
Altough the  rooms are small, they are cozy and the heating was working it´s best, so we were never cold. We had an apartment - living room with couch and TV and bedroom with 3 beds - very comfortable. Clean, modern bathroom - a lot of hot water everytime and solid water pressure.
The owner - Mrs. Karlova, is very nice person, who care about you - always asking, if all is OK or if you need anything.
Breakfast was a bit simple - some cheese and ham,yogurt, musli and yes,  grey morning hotel coffee:-(, but they prepare hot meal to - scrambled eggs with onion - very tasty! We had lunch or dinner there couple of times and the dishes were always well prepared and ok. The prices of meals are a bit high, but I guess it´s the same at every other restaurant in this part of Sumava.
The location of the hotel is really convenient - directly on the road from Nyrsko and there is small ski slope some 100m away. Behind hotel building starts popular treck to Black Sea - 4km away.

WINTER BREAK

The worst experience ever...expensive terrible beer, really bad soups...We visit this hotel in October 2013, the waitresses was rude, we wanted to get some offer from her, but everything you will find in menu - that was her answer. fortunately, last good advice refound our catastrophic experience.

awfull service and meal

In the Spicak area (outside) directly in the forest, opposite a simple ski slope with a tow and baby lift. Good kitchen and very friendly and helpful owners. Rooms are still OK (stained and torn bedding, not very clean room/bathroom), suitable furniture. Breakfast in buffet form including fresh egg dishes. Smoking is unfortunately allowed in parts of the restaurant (in the same smoker). Parking is very crowded in rain or snow, but there are garages. Internet access to the reception is free via W-LAN.
