We took a last minute trip to Denmark to attend a family funeral.  We were, luckily, able to get reservations at Guldbjerghus while we were there.  Hanne and Otto were amazing hosts.  The location is beautiful and quiet.  For several days, my husband and I had Room 2 (a room with a private external bathroom). The room was clean and spacious and our bathroom was just across the hall.  When our two adult children arrived, we were able to reserve Room 1 as well.  It has a private bathroom, so we shared the entire upstairs area of the house.  It was perfect for our little family.  As others have mentioned, the breakfasts were scrumptious!  All the food is homemade... fresh OJ, yogurt with jam and muesli (I would love the recipe for that fabulous muesli!), scrambled eggs with bacon or sausage and a veggie, and a huge tray of assorted home-baked breads (try the stone age bread..yum!), cheese, meat, honey, jam, fruit, and usually a danish specialty like frikadeller or leverpostej. All served with french-press coffee or hot tea and a sweet crepe or cake.  We never left hungry!  Highly recommend this lovely accomodation!  Thanks Hanne and Otto!

Wonderful!

A former schoolhouse outside the city in a green position, once a ruin, now lovingly decorated into a mature gem in decades of hard work. Large, tastefully furnished rooms including a possible coffee shop, very friendly owners, an unusually early breakfast (from 8-9), but for its unique individuality and quality, very worthwhile. The large garden is wonderful to look at. The Internet is a little stumbling and wobbly, the clarity can not be completely driven out of such an old house despite all efforts. The country street in front of the house does not bother you again.

I've been able to get around.

Authentic bed and breakfast. Very close to Boguense, a charming village. Clean and cozy. Located in the countryside but very well connected. Large parking space. Ideal location for relaxing. With family, too.

Fantastica Navidad is a wonderful Christmas.

Decided to stay here as our little pre-baby getaway with my husband. Had read all the nice and positive reviews on this place so decided on coming here which I'm so glad for. Everything was just as others had reviewed. The room was very nice and cozy and made us feel very comfortable. We had a beautiful view of the fields outside and we got to wake up to amazing sunrises both mornings. The breakfast is really that good as others have mentioned. Everything homemade and tastes delicious. We even got to buy a little jar of their homemade orange jam that my husband loved. All in all it was a very pleasant stay and we will definitely go back there to relax and enjoy peaceful surroundings. Thank you to the amazing owners of the place for making it so welcoming and enjoyable. 

Mini getaway

This establishment is perfect for escaping and enjoying the tranquility and nature, surrounded by fields, but at the same time it is also ideal as a base for a route around the island of Fionia, being very close to cities like Bogense or Odense. The surroundings are magnificent, the house is very beautiful and complete (including a refrigerator, washing machine and dryer for the guests), the very complete breakfasts and home furnishings, undoubtedly the best we have tasted! But the best is undoubtedly the familiar and welcoming treatment that the owners are. Very friendly and attentive to the needs of their guests, facilitating the stay and giving information about the points of interest of the area. A great experience we had with them was being able to make a barbecue in the house.

It's great!

If you have a car and not bothered about paying for Odense-priced hotels then stay here. It's on a beautiful farm and the couple that run it are so nice. The room was very spacious and friendly and the bathroom was shared with just one other room. The breakfast with scrambled eggs, sausage and home-made white rolls and jams (tasted way too fresh for shop-bought) was very thoughtful.

They also have a conservatory for guests to spend their extra time so a bottle of wine facing the sunset and their lovely front garden was more than a treat. Great set-up! Wish we could have stayed longer.

Beautiful location, super cosy and fantastic breakfast

It's a small house hotel, very friendly and welcoming hosts. You can't get there without a car, but you can feel Denmark only there. We were there at Christmas. Of course, all of Denmark is dying. It was 2010.

Family vacation

I'm glad I decided to spend New Year's Eve in Bogense, on my way up north. This place is even more lovely than I had found out through Booking.com.
The location is great, the owners are really kind and the breakfast they cooked for us was just amazing! The room was very nice, warming and spacious - they even left some dishes and cutlery, so that we could have a meal if we wanted to! The price/quality is superb. If I ever come back to Bogense, I will stay there again!

Awesome place!

The BB is in a typical Danish country house surrounded by beautiful cultivated fields. The owner has obtained 5 separate rooms besides his house. You can access a nice porch and there is all the equipment to make the grill in the garden, very well maintained. The room in which we stayed was very spacious and well furnished. Unique neo, our private bathroom) was near the room but not in the room. In the morning the owners prepare for each guest a lavish and abundant breakfast, all homemade and definitely good! highly recommended
