Had an awesome time here with the children. I felt safe, there was lots of activities for the children and it was spacious. We stayed in the 2 bed apartment with loft and kitchenette. The apartment had a pool table, PlayStation and Lego table for the children inside. My crew had an amazing time. Outside there were rabbits and goats, swings, an obstacle course and so much more including go karts etc. Christian is awesome and really made us feel welcome. There is a shop a few minutes away where you can buy food items. There were other families staying there who we were able to acquaint ourselves with. I will certainly come back on my next trip to Billund.

Wow! Highly recommend! Awesome

Brilliant place to stay with children, so much for them to do. The shared kitchen was great, it had everything you could need in there and was never busy. The host was very friendly and gave us a fantastic swimming pool recommendation! Would absolutely recommend this as somewhere to stay when visiting Legoland. 

Brilliant base for Legoland

We stayed at Hestkaer Family Rooms in June 2023 for 3 nights. English Family of 4, kids aged 6 & 12. We chose to stay in one of the school themed apartment rooms with a private bathroom and kitchenette.

This was the first flight abroad due to Covid etc for our 6 year old and first time
any of us had been to Denmark. The flight is only 1hr 25mins from UK.  We booked just the week before, direct flights with Ryanair & booked the accommodation direct with Hestkaer Family Rooms for the best price.

What a surprisingly good success!

Hestkaer Family Rooms is great for families with children.  The owner Christian is a great guy, friendly and helpful.

Our flight was delayed so we arrived late but a short taxi ride to the accommodation with no problems. 

First day we explored the many inclusive facilities at Hestkaer Family Rooms. Trampolines, crazy golf, badminton, kids go carts, skateboards, climbing frames, kids zip wire, animals -rabbits goats pigs, Lego, games room with pool table, air hockey table, darts, Nintendo & PlayStation games & kids even watched the annoying YouTube nonsense that they like on TV etc etc etc there is loads of things to choose from.

We bought supplies for breakfast and lunches from the local supermarket which is 15min walk. The bus stop is also nearby to the supermarket.

We travelled by bus (easy, clean & cheap) throughout the rest of our stay. (just check timetable ahead) 

We ate out for tea in Grinstead which was a short bus ride. away. Then back to relax and enjoy the facilities again at Hestkaer Family Rooms.

Day two we visited Legoland (brilliant & not crowded), took a packed lunch with us that we'd made up at the family rooms. We stopped off again in the town of Grinstead for pizzas for tea then bus again back to Hestkaer Family Rooms.

Day three, checkout at 11am, paid Christian for the bedding and towels and then we enjoyed the facilities again at Hestkaer Family Rooms for the rest of our last day. We used the communal kitchen and dining room on this last day as we were welcome to stay until we left by bus for the airport for a late flight home.

Hestkaer Family Rooms is an informal, relaxed hostel which felt safe for our kids to explore and we could easily find them when we were ready to go out. 

We played pool, air hockey and relaxed with a glass of wine (just remember to buy it from the supermarket) while the kids enjoyed everything. Hestkaer Family Rooms is not a hotel with fluffy bathrobes and chocolate on the pillow but it is an old school that's now being used for families as a great base whilst visiting Denmark.

Denmark was lovely and clean and we only met nice people.  We recommend Hestkaer Family Rooms and would love to return and explore more of Denmark.

Great relaxed informal fun family with kids accommodation 

We stayed here for 4 nights and it was perfect. Our kids (4 and 5) loved it. There is so much to play with outside and indoor. The owner is really nice and helpful. The apartment was very big and clean and there were toys as well. Location is great for Billund as well as other places like Esbjerg. We would absolutely go back there if we have the oppertunity!

Absolutely perfect

Everything was great. it was litterally one of the best camping spots that we have visit. And if you talk with our kids, it is THE BEST. the main idea, was visiting Legoland and use the camping for sleeping. But the kids have such a good time, that we have to convinced them to go to Legoland 🤣

Best camping location in the world!

Very good value for the price! Excellent playing activities and such a nice coyntryside athmosphere. :) Not far away from legolandia or Lalandia. We took a buss to get here, and needed to walk some minutes on the roadside with fast traffic on the road but it was ok. Even easier would be to get here by own or rented car.

Good athmosphere

Really nice place near legoland. We stayed in a tent for a night. We were 3 people and payed a total of 60 €. Really appreciated the comfy beds and the nice staff 😊 if you get the chance l, make sure to stay there!

Lovely place

We recommend this accomodation especially for the families with children. Lot of activities indoors and outdoors. Well equipped Large Kitchen. Ideal place for travelling around southern Denmark. Very friendly and helpful owner.

Great holidays

We are a family of 5 traveling with 2 small kids and this place meet all our requirements, we loved this place ! Unfortunately there was not availability for all our vacation days so we only stated here 3 nights. 
Check in was easy and simple and the rooms are very spacious and extremely clean. Shower had a good pressure and was quite relaxing . 
Due to covid restrictions they could not serve breakfast but there is a very good mini market 1 km away and they provide all the tableware and cutlery for us to have a nice meal ( you need to leave it on the dishwasher afterwards) 
There are a lot of activities to do but the main ones we used were the mini golf, ping pong and the Nintendo/ ply station games. Kids also loved the trampolines while we stayed on the confortable hamacs. Overall it was great !

Excellent choice for a vacation with the family

we stay at this magical place for only 3 days.
from the moment we arrived to the moment we left the kids desappear (we have four)and let us(the parents) to completely relax!
the room ate fun cozy and have toys and object feom the theme you chose.
We stay in the chemistry room it was in a quite spot of the property sec away from a play room with playstation and pool table.
they have a commun kitchen where u can use all the plates and utensiles.
they have an awsome bbq area rigth next the outdoor play area where ur kids can play while u relax in the hammoc.
is close to lots of attivities (legoland, lalandia Wow park and more)
We will definatelly make a tradition trip as i absolutelly adored this place!!!
