Nice food and a great fine sand beach nearby - perfect for both old and young fare away from city noise absolutely a great place for relaxation. The only problem is that you have to plan with the ferry - unless you take the plane lying from Roskilde. 

Cosy small hotel

Doing extensive travel for a living, it was great to experience the staff at this location being very authentic and trying hard to make a difference.
We stayed for 2 nights and got greated in sunshine by a very relaxed, authentic and carring lady who gave us a small tour of the facility. It was exactly what we were looking for - Relaxed, quiet, close to the beach and very cosy. You can have breakfast inside the facility and in the old garden. Breakfast is top notch and is highly recommendable.

When talented hosts try hard

A weekend stay at the beginning of June 2018 turned out to be the perfect stress relief for my busy husband and my expectant self. 
Clean, quiet, cosy room with an elevation bed - exquisite seasonal meals worthy of an award and my husband's favourite - freshly and individually prepared strawberry cakes in the garden in the afternoon. 
We give the kind hosts and staff at Hotel Strandgaarden in Vesterø on Læsø our warmest recommendations and will most certainly be staying with them again in the future.
We also recommend combining your stay with a visit at the local salt spa in a repurposed church within walking distance from the hotel.

Stress relief, gourmet dinners and beautiful sunsets

Restaurant visit only. Delightful. Prix and menu fixé. All dishes gorgeous with an explanation of each course, in Danish and English, at the start and on presentation of the dish. Exemplary service throughout. 
Extensive wine list supported by friendly discussions and helpful recommendations that proved very suitable.
Ambience particularly attractive, good napery, table setting, glassware etc even on a windy evening threatening rain: thatched house with open courtyard and gardens that must be superb in high summer.
An enjoyable experience that leaves one satisfied and not leaving over-stuffed.
If the rooms are like this then there is no chance of disappointment.

Gourmet Restaurant - Yes

Very conveniently placed  within reach of the Læsø Salt Spa, the harbour in Vesterø and with great hiking, biking and running opportunities  just outside the door.  The rooms are very nice and clean.  The  primary attraction is  the excellent restaurant with  sophisticated food, a good selection of wine and most attentive staff

Charm and relaxation

We stayed at the hotel for 4 nights, enjoyed 2 evenings with gourmet dinners and great breakfast every morning. The hotel is nicely decorated, a cosy and very relaxed style and atmosphere - everything well maintaned and clean. The host family and staff takes great care of their guests and the food is superb, very tasty and delicious yet affordable. By far the best hotel and restaurant at Læsoe and among the top places to visit and go for dinner in the Northern part of Jutland. Very close to the beautiful beach - great views from the rooms fully matcing the info on their web page.

By far the best hotel and gourmet restaurant at Læsoe

Stayed for 3 nights in one of the "upper" rooms, which are clean, comfortable and have everything you need in a small space, i.e. not luxurious but nice enough; location is good for the ferry, the harbour and the beach, but frankly anywhere on the island is very easily accessible, preferrably by bike (which you rent at the hotel - sturdy Swedish ex military bikes); phantastic deserted beaches all around you.
The big revelation, though, was the food in the hotel: very nice breakfast out in the garden (didn't try lunch), and really top class dinner menu - restricted to just one 3-course meal every night, but absolutely worth waiting for. Being used to starred restaurants in London, I would compare Strandgaarden's cuisine quite favourably with many of them. Their specialty, Norway lobster, also called Dublin Bay prawn (Danish: jomfruhummer, German: Kaisergranat), is served in a variety of guises and is phantastic every time - served in Olde Worlde Danish farmhouse surroundings every meal is memorable.
