Warm and lovely hostess

We heard about the place and the nontraditional owners. They were exactly as charming and forthcoming as shown in the media. We booked the suite and it was very nice, indeed. Very comfortable beds and the sitting area was very cozy. We enjoyed our dinner where we chose 2 course menus with African inspiration. Breakfast was plenty and well prepared. Later a walk through the park at Tranekaer Castle completed a nice excursion to Langeland.

Charming and historic inn - with a touch of Africa

Despite having received a written confirmation of my booking and a later reminder that I had booked a room, I was met by a smiling host, who told me that the hotel was overbooked and that there was no room available. When asked what arrangements he would make to help me find another hotel on the island the still smiling host told me that he could not help.

Overbooked - No room available

The inn is very nice, old traditional and lots of history. The manager (Monique) is very nice, and it's clear that she tries hard to keep the place running.

We got a room in the main building, and it was actually quite nice, but the furniture was old and almost not functioning. Especially the bed was a problem - too small and uncomfortable. Almost impossible to get a good night sleep, and this is perhaps the most important feature of any hotel/inn/b&b etc.

The food was as expected - have seen worse!

I would have loved to give a better review, but the place is too overpriced and worn down to recommend.


Great location, but too worn down and very overpriced 

We found this place ok, because of the location to exciting and interesting activities at Langeland.
The slotskro is old, and you may smell the centuries. Fun to see all the decorations, paintings and old furnitures from a bygone periode.  We ate lovely breakfasts, and ordered a tasty dinner and a house wine one evening. Few other guests, but the staff was nice and helpful. You should bring with you cash, because they don't accept foreign credit cards.

A place in the middle of Langeland

I guess whether one is happy or not with a place depends a lot on expectations. With around 100 hotel nights a year I have a fair sense of what one can get for 130 € a night. This hotel was a big disappointment. The older building is cosy  enough but the accommodation bit was build in the sixties and it smells and looks like it has never been upgraded since. Terrible beds, fridge not working, no toiletries, water damage and a breakfast buffet than can only be described as pathetic. 50 Euros would have been plenty.

Run down and overpriced

Super Service 4 stars great food, very friendly as ever, our favorite hotel on Langeland... coming back next year at Easter... we're looking forward to it... the weather was very nice, nice people in the hotel as always... and some dudes who are unhappy.

Like always very clean, again the same room as last year super clean, the food as always great and exactly to our taste fresh lax from Axel smoked the same day/ New Langeland's potatoes great, every day another dessert, damned that a WOCHE sold so quickly, so much romance my husband and I are always like newly in love when we come back from Tranekaer, what exactly are the negative reports on Tripadvisor's pages supposed to mean?

This summer again in our favourite Kro It's the first time

I'm at this hotel for the 10th time, and I'm here every year on vacation with the kids. We're always treated very well here, the food is top-notch and always fresh! When I read the posts on this page, I really wonder what that is for poor stupid people who allow themselves to write something so stupid about their hair and embarrassment.
