The location is excellent and it is pretty great knowing you are sleeping in this super old building. It’s a very basic room, but plenty comfortable. There are snacks and drinks in the room available for purchase, which is good, as this is a sleepy town with not much available in the evenings (at least during the off season). The breakfast was fabulous and the host was wonderful.
One tip, if you are arriving after 6, make sure that you have made arrangements with the host. Especially if you do not have cell service to call.

Very Good Stay

There seems to be no better way to see Denmark's oldest city than by staying in one of its oldest inns! Jens is a great host and the breakfasts provided are suitable to keep you going for a whole day. We had rooms with shared bathrooms and that worked great during our three day stay. The rooms are charming -- we embraced the shorter ceilings, post and beams, and slanted floors when we made the reservations and were definitely not disappointed. There is a small shared sitting area upstairs if you want to gather. In terms of location, Hotel Postgaarden is central to exploring all of Ribe and while it is on one of the main streets in the center of town, it is not at all noisy. Most of the stores close up shop by 5pm and many of the local restaurants are down the street a bit. So very quiet in the evening.

In the Middle of History -- and Sleeping In It

Location:Right in the center of town! The free 48 hour parking is a bit of a walk, especially with bags. Have a drop off person. Shared Bath: It was August; hotel was busy. Downside, bath was very busy in the AM! Bath is large but desperately needs a table on which to lay your clothes and towel when showering.  No hand towels, wash clothes, tissues, no water glasses provided. Very old and quaint, nice!  Rooms a decent size but also need a small table upon which to put a suitcase! TVs in 2 rooms did not work well or at all. Management not too concerned. Remote stolen, sorry.

Stayed 2 days in August

I loved staying at Postgaarden! The host Jens made me feel welcome at once and was very helpful. The B&B is located right in the town centre and about 5-10 min from the train station. The room was just charming and the breakfast excellent. The bathroom was shared but as I was the only one staying at this part of the building I had it all for myself. I would definitely stay at Postgaarden again if back in Ribe!

Perfect

This wonderful house is situated directly in the city centre. We stayed here for 3 nights for very good price. I love this place! Wooden narrow house from 1668. You can feel the history here! Amazing! Kind staff, nice restaurant, very good breakfast with delicious coffee. During whole day you can make coffee or tea. Shared shower cleaned and near of the rooms. Ribe is a beautiful city which I recommend to visit and stay in PostGaarden BB too! Thank you :)

Historical feelings

We loved the family appartment in the B&B Postgaarden.
It was clean, cosy, quiet and the kitchen well equipped.
The owner was friendly and cool - nothing to complain and everything to recommend!
Would definitely come back if ever returning to Denmark

very nice appartment, everything cool

Nasty toilets, nasty sandwich at overprice. Just wasted ddk 120,- on a sandwich I took one bite of and the left. It was supposed to be simple ham and cheese, but ham was replaced with some nasty and cheape substitute. Luckily it was hard to taste because of all the curry dressing... I recommend going somewhere else.

Nasty

I spent two nights at Postgaarden. I arrived late, but Jens was around and showed me the room on the first floor. It had a canopy bed, a small TV, a table and two chairs. The bed is comfortable. 

Since it is an old house, roofs are quite low, but the atmosphere is great. The bathroom is on the same floor.
