The food is boring with same potatoes and gravy each day, just a different meat. Staff might smile politely but don't listen or care about what you say. The owner is a grumpy old fart.
There is nothing in the town to se or do , but it's not a bad place to go for a walk

Staff couldn't care less

We stayed here one night on our way to Norway. Driving to the ferry is possible in 20 minutes. The room was comfortable and bathroom up to date.The reception wasn't friendly. Upon our arrival we had to decide in 5 minutes (not exaggerating)if we wanted to have dinner in the hotel. The explanation they provided was that there was a wedding ongoing and they couldn't handle additional guests. We decided not to have dinner as we did not like the pressure , only 1 menu was available and we did not know the Crones vs Euro conversion.
We had a strong feeling that the lady at the reception looked down on casual guests like us (sports outfits) as not being posh enough for this hotel.
We could only pay cash, luckily there is an ATM across the street but credit card would be more convenient.
We did not sleep well because of the noise of the wedding guests.
On our return trip we stayed in another hotel for which we payed the same price, but that hotel was better and breakfast was included.

Would not stay here again, certainly not travelling through to Norway

Warm welcome despite late arrival - showed to quiet clean room overlooking garden and with separate entrance from outside. Clean wellkept room and facilities - TV with international channels. Breakfast served from 8 am. - variety of cereals, bread, eggs, and rolls with all extras. Fresh juices, tea and coffee. Hospitable and friendly staff.

Weekend with Table Tennis tournament Sindal Haller.

Stayed four weeks as traveling technician. Vey warm welcome. My room was in the annex, clean and ok standard. Food was fine , big portions and very typical Danish. Very chatty staff allways helpfull and attentive.. This is not a big city four star hotel and its not trying to be, but an old fashioned  country hotel/ inn.
It is on the main road and very close to the railway station

Half Hotel , half Inn.

This hotel lays next to a railway station with a level crossing, and on the other side is a cross road with the main road between Hjorring and Fredrikshavn.  Every time a train came there was "ding, ding, ding" from the level crossing and a loudspeaker announcement at the station, and there was regular HGV traffic on the road.  The bed in a supposedly double room was only a little wider than a single - and made up with two single sheets overlapped.  It was absolutely impossible to sleep for more than 10 minutes at a time.  Add to this a rather shabby bathroom where it was impossible to close the door as the whole room was on a slant.  To add insult to injury Sindal Kro charges DKK600 (over £80) per night and does not accept any bank or credit cards - you have to go to the minibank across the road and take out cash.  Altogether an unpleasant experience.  The only positive thing was the man in reception when we arrived who was very jovial, and the lady who ran the restaurant who was also very pleasant and helpful.
