I was very impressed with the facilities during the surprise hit by hurricane Matthew last week. Though power went out all over town, this hotel's generator kicked in every time and even provided Internet for most of the time. They have a very curious green system where the bathroom lights will go out if there is no motion sensed and consequently one takes a shower in the dark part of the time, but hey, anything to save energy is ok by me. The air conditioning is fantastic and so it the big screen television with all sorts of Spanish and English channels. They have a fully equipped kitchen in the room and you can actually prepare your own meals there, such a money saver. This place is located right in town, which was convenient for me since I was there on a business trip. However, I did not exactly feel like I could just go outside and walk down the street safely. Maybe I was being paranoid, but San Pedro de Macoris is not your typical tourist town. After 7:00 pm which is when it got dark it was totally dark outside with barely any lights in the court yard. Perhaps that's another one of their energy saving strategies. All in all a great hotel if you have to stay in town, such an escape from the oppressing heat in that place.

Felt safe during Hurricane Matthew

Stayed there 4 to 5 times ..always very nice .the rooms are clean pretty large and have a kitchen.they have cable 32" flat screen tv,queen or may be king size bed ac and hot water .modern decor.very close to the town center.

A jewel

I stayed for a nigth with  a friend.. We had a good experience friendly staff $2000 per nigth worth it. Hot Water, refrigerator, air conditioner, towels, Wi-Fi,  T.v. etc. I totally recommend this Apartahotel. 

Good Experience 

I decided to visit San Pedro de Macoris for one night on my way to La Romana. Looking at the options online,  it looked like I only had one choice.

The property is a 3 story building,  in good repair, located right on a busy street, with the basic necessities within walking distance. There is a lot of traffic noise, but maybe it will drop off late tonight. 

There is no office onsite, but the cleaning staff is available for check-in and check-out. There doesn't appear to be anyone around who speaks English,  but I managed. 

The room is extremely large, especially for the price, 2/3 of the price I reserved the room for. They did accept US Dollars,  however,  there is a Casa de Cambio right across the street with a good rate.

The floors are all nicely tiled with basic furnishings,  in good condition.  Air conditioning, WiFi and cable all work fine. The only downsides are the lack of a room safe, the lack of a window,  other than in the full kitchen, low water pressure, no elevator,  and only lukewarm water.

The room is furnished with a dinette with 2 chairs, a loveseat, 2 nightstands and a king bed.  There is still enough room to put in 3 recliners, with 1 in the bathroom, and it would still not be crowded. I would definitely recommend it for a longer stay, if you can handle the traffic noise.

A Pleasant Surprise 

I have stayed here plenty of times before, well I have paid between 1500 Dominican pesos to 3000 pesos. Today they charged me 3000 pesos for a room I had paid 1500 pesos before. NEVER AGAIN! They take advantage of you and the room wasn’t even ready. We had to finish placing te pillow cases to the pillows. Don’t stay here, they charge whatever they fee like for rooms that are worth 1250 pesos. The owners are a joke and the “security” don’t even know half of the property or rooms.

It’s a rip off

Rude & unfriendly owner, Had reservation, and upon arrival from airport late at night, no one but the watchman (Dominican security guard) showed me to my room. He requested to keep my passport and a complete cash payment in advance. Obviously I did not agree to those terms, and ended up loosing my deposit. Ridiculous! There is another apartahotel close by which is quieter, has much bigger rooms, better prices & tourist friendly staff.
