It was recommended to me by friends... super nice place but dirty noise... horrible heat... and finally super expensive... hot water... and even no water... because a net of water escapes from the shower full of hair from previous customers... no toilet paper..

What a shame.

Excellent location near the ruins of San Francisco with beautiful views, simple yet clean rooms. Good quality price, good choice for sleeping in the heart of the charming colonial area!

It's simple, clean, well-used everywhere.

The hostel is quite well located, in the heart of Santo Domingo, but in the three nights we stayed here, we didn't sleep, the surroundings are very noisy, I understand that it is for daily activities, but if you want to rest, this is not a good place.

It's ubiquitous, but it doesn't rest.

I stayed in a double room as well as in the living room: the double room was small but not bad.

This Hostal is located in a central area less than 5 minutes walk from Plaza de España and right in the heart of the colonial area...comfortable to reach all the most important attractions of the city. Our room (we were three) was quite large and spacious. Characteristic in the furnishing, with a balcony on the main street and a balcony bed. On the roof of the hostal, a pleasant Spartan terrace has been made for a bar.

A night in the heart of Santo Domingo

I loved the place, I didn't wanted to stay there because what I saw in the pics I didn't like it... but when you got there, the environment, the service, the decoration, the places you have around, is just beautiful... is different from a fancy hotel, from fancy stuff, if you are going to Dominican Republic for fun and be with the real people and environment!

Ideal location for exploring the colonial area and quiet in a pedestrian street. Small structure with rooms and dorms. The family room with 2 beds is correct but there is no mosquito net for the second bed. Rudimentary shower because a small net of cold water... The hotel is catching up with a friendly and helpful reception, a terrace on the roof, and terrace in the street in front of the ruins of the monastery where you can have your lunch (a little light: a coffee and grilled bread). Good foot on the ground for a short stay at a correct, basic but friendly price.

Hotel with no pretence

We've been to the capital many times, but we've never slept in this hotel. We've been assigned the suite, a really nice room. The staff leaves a little to be desired but overall we've been fine. Breakfast is poor. Animals are welcome. Nice location right next to the square where every Sunday night there's a neighborhood party, with live music, people dancing and having fun. This party starts at 6pm and ends at 10pm, so it doesn't disturb your sleep.

Nice discovery.

Apart from the location, there's nothing wrong with this hotel. - the reception: we booked via Booking.com from the 26th to the 28th, the manager had noted only one night from the 28th to the 29th (?) it took 15 good minutes before he decided to give us a room and that despite the written proof, booking number ect. - the room: we booked a double upper room, with bathtub. In fact, no room has a dog bathtub according to him, we had a tiny room that has nothing upper. There's only room to go around the bed.

Totally Disappointed

Pros: Most of the time this hotel on the booking has seats + the price is not big. Location is right in the center of Santo Domingo. Before all the sights, you can hand-deliver. The hotel has a nice roof - in the evening and in the morning there is great. There you can sit on couches. Cons: If you booked the room even through booking - it's not the fact that when you arrive it will be free exactly the room you wanted. There is no hot water, and if there is, they're heated by its electricity. In our room the water was running and the water was cold. We looked for friends in the next room. Some rooms without air conditioning or they're so old that it's better not to sleep on the second floor - so don't sleep.
