We were skeptical about staying at this hotel when we read the reviews before booking. However, considering the proximity to the location of the event that we would be attending everyday, we decided to book the first 3 of the 15 nights we would be spending in Santo Domingo at this hotel so that we could do our own assement. After the 2nd night, with my wife's approval, we extended our stay to 15 days. Below are the reasons for the extension.

1. Great location considering the proximity to the Estadio Olímpico Félix Sánchez we had events at, a block to a supermarket for shopping for food, great coffee shops, fast food places to get in and out, and even a few nice bars and clubs
2. We did not only feel safe in the hotel, but in the entire environment as we strolled to and fro the stadium in the afternoon and evenings
3. The room comes with a perfect little kitchen, medium size fridge, electric stove, utensils & plates for home cooking and dining experience. We felt at home as we love home made meals.
4. Also, in the room is a dinning table with 2 chairs, 2 medium size bed side tables, a dresser, a full size closet and a TV. We had no issues with the TV throughout
5. The Bed is very comfortable with nice pillows which we enjoyed till we left
6. Free WiFi, initially had issue with the connection but Emmanuel helped to address the issue and we had great connection thereafter
7. Language barrier was broken with Google Translate app on mobile phones that all the receptionist - Ezequiel, Emmanuel etc. used with us throughout our stay.
8. Extending the duration of our stay after the first 2 nights was made easy by Emmanuel despite the online "sold out" message
9. Despite our selection to pay onsite, we were able to pay with credit card
10. I initially thought only cold water was available in the bathroom, but my wife who is smarter than me figured out the hot water
11. The AC in our room worked so well that we felt like not leaving the room for the scorching heat outside
12. All the hotel staff including the Janitor, despite not speaking English, were very helpful at making our stay there enjoyable

The crack in the roof of the bathroom area of the room (possibly due to the age of the building) should be repaired urgently before it gets bad.

Would definitely return as long as the management and staff keep the good work going!

one of the best Aparta hotel I have experience its very clean the staff very polite in the center of everything plenti of restaurants and supermarket at walking distance I loved it felt very safe in this area i like the fact that has its own kitchen and your able to cook or can eat at the restaurants around there I truly recommend

My second visit here, only 17 rooms. Quiet, clean and located in safe Naco area, 1 block to Centro Olympico. My room has a decent kitchen...the are 3 great super markets within a short walk, great gyms, and multiple restaurants in the neighborhood. Excellent place for an extended stay. Staff is nice and efficient but don't speak English. Only problem... this is a cash only establishment, no cards.

Well I read all the reviews and I am a single female that travels out of the country often. I now read between the lines and understand the pros and the cons when booking these kinds of hotels. So, lets begin with the 

POSITIVE:

1. Great location if you want to be walking distance from great places to eat, quick shopping for food, great coffee shops, fast food places to get in and out and even a few nice bars and clubs
2. Felt safe in the location
3. Perfect little kitchen set up and large frig if you want to save cost on eating out
4. Beds clean and very comfortable with nice pillows (love good pillows)
5. Free Wifi great connection no issues
6. Also had a dinning table in the room full size with 4 chairs and a desk to get work done
with dresser draws, a full size closet, micorwave and toaster so whipping up breakfast was super easy
7. I HIGHLY SUGGEST YOU PRINT YOUR RESERVATION OUT AND BRING IT WITH YOU WITH YOUR CONFIRMATION NUMBER

Cons:
1. I had to check in at 4 am and had someone from expedia call in advance to make sure I would not be charged for the time of day or an additional day. It was confirmed and so was my reservation.
2. When I got to the hotel they didn't have my name or my reservation and no one spoke english. The next day, I found out since they didn't have my reservation there was also no record of the conversation. If it wasn't for my driver coming in to assist me in Spanish Im not sure I could have done anything (but they did honor my agreement and I did have a room to say in at the time of check in) {POSITIVE)
3. The bathroom is VERY hot, the windows say open and there was a decent amount of mosquitos, but again, when in the tropics for me this wasn't a big deal a shower is a shower and lets move on the hot water works ! lol
4. The TV in the room didn't work, but I don't watch TV no big deal
5. Its on a major busy street, so if the sound of horns blowing from time to time are a bother don't look at anywhere on this street
6. The beaches aren't close but again for me this is no big deal, about 30 mins ride
Overall, for the price I'm still giving this a thumbs up if your trying to save cost it's still a very decent and good room. I would hope they would put someone who is at least bilingual at the front desk but again, I would still stay here again and I'll brush up on my Spanish!
7. They don't tell you they only take cash, but here again, reading the reviews I knew that and I came with cash I would also add, do not bring big bills they don't have change and I would do the rate exchange and pay in their currency

Gave Average but Would Still Say Good to Stay

I have booked a room online 10 days ahead. I had my confirmation email and secured my booking with my credit card. 10 days later and after a very long and tiring trip, as soon as we got in, the man in the reception just said he does not have a reservation with my name. I insisted that he shows me the list of the clients checking in today and then I did found my name!! But the man who did not seem to care juste said : in Spanish (he did not speak other language): no tengo habitacion. 
In fact they overbooked the room, and since we came at 8pm, the other client had it before us and we found ourself in the street for our first night. The man in the reception did not seem even embarrassed and continued tchatching with his girlfriend on facebook. An agent from the website I used to book called him to ask for an explanation but he gave them the same answer and returned quickly to his facebook . Hopefully the agent was kind enough to find us another hotel, but we lost a lot of time and energy already. 
This hotel's people are not honest neither professional. So do not be trapped like me and look for something else. Moreover, it's far away from the interesting places. 

!!! AVOID IT !!! They practice overbooking!!

My first stay in this hotel and I will go back. My rooms was on the 3rd floor with two double beds and a full equipped kitchen. Good WiFi in the room, TV with local and international channels. Peaceful and clean, staff attentive to my needs.
The location is perfect, with restaurants, grocery store, within walking distance.
Rates are very reasonable.

Clean, quiet, reasonable

I love the Aparta Hotel Turey, it may not be a 5 stars but the people are so nice and friendly, i had everything i needed in the room, it's a small studio and i cooked my own food and that helped me to save some money. I will come back again and i highly recommend it.
