The overall ordeal at this hotel was beyond disheartening. I made a reservation through Booking.com with a $10,000 card guarantee (as a level three member). The booking was for my wife, who was supposed to wait for me at this hotel for 2-3 days until my arrival from Mexico. The morning manager didn't know how to process the payment through Booking, and the second day they started demanding an immediate payment and refusing my wife's card (they wanted my card), which forced me to rush my trip. They held my wife's passport as a guarantee to avoid her leave or going to another hotel AND threw her out of the room, effectively leaving her stranded in a foreign country where she didn't speak the language. I called to make a payment over the phone using my card, MoneyGram or anything else but they didn't know how to do it either. Instead of admitting their lack of knowledge, they kept harassing my wife all the time.  Upon my arrival, I paid, and, after a brief discussion, they started to apologize and promise to reimburse me for their distressing treatment toward my wife, but this turned out to be just a big facade. Despite Booking's numerous attempts and persistent efforts to secure the refund for such egregious behavior, Veronica, the hotel manager, kept falsely assuring Booking.com and myself that the refund would be processed very soon, which never happened, revealing a shocking lack of competence, a blatant disregard for honesty and customer consideration. I feel compelled to share this experience, urging others to think twice before choosing this establishment.

Incompetence, Harassment, and False Promises at Mosquito Hotel

Great location with a lot of activity nearby and plenty of restaurants and touristy things to do. It is the old town so a lot of cobblestone and narrow streets. The hotel itself is very pretty but I feel it needs a bit of maintenance. The hotel is two stories and no elevators. Breakfast was included, no swimming pool and very good AC.

Great Location

We spent one night here while visiting the Zona Colonial. The room was cute, clean and fit with the historical context of the building. Great bedding, wonderful hot shower with good pressure and lovely toiletries. The air conditioning cooled our room very quickly. Our room was above the bar on a Saturday night so we didn’t get quiet until after 1 am .. every sound echoed up to our room so if an early sleep is important ask for a room away from the bar. Breakfast and the service was top notch and if you are there to walk to all the historic buildings this safe, lovely location is the perfect place to stay.

Great stay in Zona Colonial

This hotel is perfect if you are planning to spend a few days in the zona colonial.
It's well located in the center of all the highlights Santo Domingo has to offer. Everything is within walking distance.
The service is perfect! The staff is great. Everybody was very friendly and helpfull! 

The hotel itself looks fantastic, a true boutique atmosphere. There is a nice courtyard where you can start your day with a nice breakfast. It is a cosy patio with lots of (haning) plants. Later during the day/evening you should visit their nice lively bar. Great cocktails and good food!

We booked the Superior Double Room. The decoration was a bit basic but it has a nice small balcony where you can relax and look at the locals and tourist stroll by. Keep in mind the hotel is located in the center of the zona colonial, the steet in front can be busy at night. If you are a light sleeper ask for a room around the courtyard.

Perfectly located nice hotel!

Mix feelings about this place - 
Good vibe, great location, clean rooms and the staff was polite   Unfortunately, it was also loud at night and the bathroom only had cold water.  I asked the front desk about it, and was told that "It was advertised  with cold water only.."  For the price I paid, I expect a warm shower, especially after a long flight!

Family trip

Great location. We really loved the character of the hotel. The restaurant was fantastic and staff was friendly and helpful. The hotel was wonderful. It was even better than expected. The price was amazing. There were great restaurants within walking distance. Would definitely stay there again.

Enchanted

This is a small hotel with the mosquito brand touch, have been to most of the Mosquito Bars in Terrenas and they convert to gold whatever they touch (manage);  we had room 11 which was quite large, has a balcony and all the basics you need.   

You must keep in mind that this is not a five star hotel but a small chic hotel; they a great restaurant/lounge with superb food and drinks, we had a great breakfast in the patio and everyone was very attentive. 

If you one to stay at the Colonial Zone I will recommend this place for the location and the place itself.

Great place, old charm meets new world

The location offers espectacular views of Zona Colonial.  Loved the decoration, the food was very tasty and affordable.  For only $10 you get an all you can eat buffet and breakfast is included with the room rate

Its a cool hotel with a old school feel....... You just feel like your in Dominican republic....its a free breakfast...... And you can walk up the street for the main area in Santo Domingo.....if your guest stays the night you have to pay a extra 5 dollars... Everyone was friendly.......

Walking distance to the historical area

We just showed up without a reservation and they gave us a nice room that was clean and had a balcony that overlooked the street. Free breakfast was good in the morning and the staff was extremely friendly.
