One of the BEST hostels I’ve stayed at in my travel life. Staff were so helpful. They accommodated me even when i arrived at 3am. They provide towels too! Right in the center, near to restos, bus station, stores, etc. You can book tours with them which is way way cheaper. Place is spotless clean!!

Book this when in Baños

Here's the info. you want. There are 3 main tours (amongst others) that are popular. The rafting tour at $18.00 which includes lunch and which lasts approximately 4.5 hours. The latter along with the $16.00 canyoneering tour (which doesn't include lunch) are exceptional value and great fun. I highly recommend. The $22.00 "Jungle tour", however, was the biggest scam tour I've ever taken and was basically a glorified sales trip to get you to buy trinkets from various places on basically the same highway, it was truly abysmal. Aside from the above, this hostel is absolutely one of the best hostels I've ever visited. Exceptionally well managed would be an understatement. The rooms are cleaned daily, towels and soaps are complimentary as is drinking water. A book trade corner is an added bonus along with the central location and terrace. The list of positives is endless. 110% property.

110% Property

We arrived early in the morning and they let us go straight to our rooms and sleep which was great. All round great hostel. Great beds. Nice lounge and kitchen. Friendly staff. Good wifi and good location. Can’t complain and was great value for money. Also helpful in terms of booking various tours as there are many to choose from.

Great location - close to bus station and food. Staff was very friendly and helpful in assisting us with bike rentals and sightseeing recommendations. Room was quite spacious and noise was not an issue.

Two night stay in Banos

We had a two bedroom with a private bathroom. The hostile is immaculate. The desk lady speaks perfect english. The kitchen is very well stocked with many teas and coffees and juices and Waters for free. If you want to cook your own meals it is very well appointed.

I would stay there at any time with my family or by myself they organized tours for you around Banos.

Great Hostal at a TERRIFIC price!

I nearly cancelled my reservation before we came because I thought a hostel so inexpensive would not be suitable for my small kids, who are 16 months and 4 years. I was worried about the vibe, would people be annoyed with them, would people be too loud etc. This is definitely a hostel but has an absolute hotel vibe. There is no drinking allowed in the main areas and nobody is allowed to hang out past ten pm,which has made it quiet and lovely. When I booked, I was concerned about the open windows as my children are so little, and they kindly booked us in a room with the windows facing the hall. It has been quiet and peaceful. My children are welcomed. The beds are big enough to share with kids and the blankets are warm and cozy. The temperature is perfect. It is spotlessly clean and the kitchens have tons of space. The front door faces a sort of alley (although not sketchy) so the kids can walk in and out safely. It is so close to all the restaurants, grocery, bus terminal and places to organize trips. Honestly you don't have to break the bank to get comfort here! Book it!

Amazing for families with young children

This hostel is at a central location close to the bus terminal. Pleasant ambiance with a comfortable place to sit, a well equipped kitchen, computers with internet (very convenient as my laptop was stolen on the bus from Quito to Banos). Beds are comfortable. Dorm beds have power outlet, headlamp and curtain. The showers are hot. 

They definitely have looked at travelers´ needs and how to address them well. Most guests were westerners who behaved in a social manner. Unlike noisy Banos this hostel is quiet and not a party hostel.

Pleasant and convenient

We stayed here for one night during our stay in Banos. We couldn’t complain one bit really. It is centrally located and close to the bus station which is great for arriving late or leaving early.
The dorm rooms are clean and comfortable and you are provided with towels for showering. You are also provided with lockers for safe storage which is great.
The showers are warm!
We did stay in another hostel in the area which we much preferred however there is no reason not to give a five star rating for D’Mathias.

Cheap, clean and central

This place is in a perfect location, walking distance to dinner, the central part of the town, activity center and the bus station. They offer to clean your rooms while you are gone and restock with fresh towels and toilet paper daily which is so considerate. They also have a full kitchen so that if you wanted to make your own meals that is available. The showers have GREAT water pressure. The hostel also sets you up for all the activities that you want to do in town so its the perfect place to figure out all that you want to experience in Baños.

Clean, Cheap, Convienent

I spent a night in a room with private bathroom for USD20. The hostel is a block from the bus station. The room was comfortable, clean and the hostel even provided soap and shampoo. Shower was hot too. Wifi was stable even though I was on the 5th floor. One issue was there was some loud music from the surroundings but I am a heavy sleeper, so that was not an issue. The room was also a little cold but I had my jacket.

The hostel can organise tours too but I did not join any.
