The best: comfortable and quiet rooms, pleasant location and fairly close to the center (about 20 minutes walking). low price, good hippie atmosphere. the worst: poor cleaning of the rooms, 1-2 shared bathrooms and something dirty for a lot of people.

A good place to spend a couple of nights.

It's a simple hostel with a good location, very close to the center and other tourist spots.Its manager is attentive and friendly; the room had a good view of the city with well laid beds, only the pillows were uncomfortable (very hard) but everything else was fine.

Good location, good price!

A hostel for a couple of nights on a cheap plan, which could be better.The location is very good and has spacious rooms with private bathroom but, at least in the one we touched, there was a bit of grima meterse.It's a shame that it's so dirty and careless because it could aspire to more with a renovation.

The hostel has a very good layout, however they need to improve the attention, in addition to needing renovation of rooms, they have carpets that need a deep cleaning, the hostel is very decayed.

The Hostal Pachamama was a good value for the price. The hostel is family owned, and offers multiple rooms. I stayed in a private room, which had a large bed, but the room felt damp the whole time, with an odor of cheap cleaner. The blankets and carpeting also felt kind of damp. The hostel was full of partying Argentines and musician backpacker types, so be prepared to be woken at 4 AM when they came back from the bars! The best thing about Pachamama Lodge was the price. You cannot beat it. Also, everything in Cuenca is walkable from the hotel. I even walked to/from the airport!

Value for Money, But Don't Expect Too Much

The best thing about this hostel is undoubtedly the location, in a very central street by the way, very basic.The cleaning is not your best fort, the bathrooms are very old and the reception is almost nonexistent.For the price they offer the room is fine, but they could improve in cleaning.

Very fair.

If you are looking for a backpacking hostel with 3Bs, this is the ideal location, close to the ruins of Pumapungo on the wide street, at night you can hear the cars passing although it is not an unbearable thing.

Recommended for Mochileros.

The sound of the street was abit much but otherwise it was an adequate place to spend a night or two near the historical center of cuenca. 
I would have liked an included breakfast but you can't have everything.

Big house, full of musicians travelers, and the owners are the best! They keep their very honest prices low all year round regardless public holidays, and they saved me by giving a place to sleep when all hostels in cuenca were fully booked...

It is a good option for backpackers - free wifi, Nice and welcoming staff, nice rooms. It is cheap and clean. There are equipped kitchen and small garden, many things are nearby (few museums, clubs, parks, the bus station). I recommend 
