The hostel is clean, cozy and close to the bus terminal but the most important thing is the owner-Victor. We had to spend 4 nights in latacunga due to a national strike and road blocking. Victor arranged a car for us to Quilotoa and came with us for the hall day to make sure that we are OK  which came in handy when there was a road block we couldnt cross, then Victor talked to the protesters and got us through. Victor spent every night to make phone calls and get us and the other guests to where they wanted to go..just above and beyond. THANK YOU :)

LA POSADA IS A GREAT PLACE TO STAY :)

Spent the night here before heading to Sigchos and also another night before heading to Banos. The owner is extremely kind and gave us great information about the Quilotoa loop, as well as instructions on getting to Banos. The owner also held our bags for free while we were doing the loop. We were two groups traveling together and we were all put in the same room. The room was spacious and the beds very comfortable. The hostal is also very close to the bus station. Definitely a good place to spend a night before moving on to other places more interesting than Latacunga

Great stopping point before the Quilotoa loop!

We stopped by here when we were going to Sigchos the next day for the Quilotoa Loop hike. It’s basic, but has everything you would need: clean beds, bathroom with hot showers, free refill for drinking water. It can get pretty noisy at night since the street is right below. We got in contact with the owner, Victor, and he gave us solid advice on the hike. He also lets you store your bags for free while you hike. Side note, the other guy that works there (Dany) is unreliable. We asked him to get in contact with Victor for us and he promised us he would but never came through. Good thing victor was able to pull some strings and get us a guide to Cotopaxi. All in all, I would recommend staying here. It’s close to the bus station and has all that you need for a night. 

Basic, but solid

Excellent cut price hostel, great for a stay overnight the owner was very helpful with all our travel needs, including ringing forward to other hotel's for us....Great place to stay on a budget in equador, we left our main bag's at the hotel while we travelled onwards with only our day packs... Again lovely budget Hostal with great owner. 

Great budget Hostal 

I agree with the recent reviews below. One of the best things about this Hostal is the owner, Victor Hugo. He’s a font of knowledge for all the local destinations and makes sure you know where you are going and how not to get ripped off as a ‘gringo’. 

Pros:
- good location easy to get to from bus station and easy walking distance to restaurants 
- really useful local information as mentioned above
- rooms were clean 
- 24 hour security
- you can leave your bags in storage when you go hiking 
- free drinking water
- good showers
- reasonably priced 

Cons:
- rooms are quite small (we had a double)
- beds are small and felt a bit cramped for two people
- the design of the building means you can hear everything going on above and below you. We got woken up at 6am on our last day by the person in the room opposite us listening to music whilst they were showering 

In conclusion, would we stay again? Yes, for the information alone it was worth it. 

Good stepping off location for Quilotoa loop and Cotopaxi

We, a family of four spent the night at this family run hostel on route to the Quilatoa Loop. The room was spacious with comfortable beds and having our own private bathroom was great. The street below was a little noisy with traffic but settled down after dark. The only suggestion would be to have thicker curtains, the street light outside shone into the room and the curtains weren't thick enough to hide out the light. 
The owner of the hostel Victor Hugh was extremely helpful and friendly and went out of his way to help and advise us regarding the hike we were due to take the following day. We were also able to leave our bags here for the duration of our hike free of charge.
 I would recommend staying here especially if you want to get advice about the Quilatoa loop - Victor is a wealth of knowledge and gave us a detailed map and explained everything to us - you can see he loves what he does.
The hostel is well situated - The bus station was about an 8 minute walk.

Good for an overnight stop on route to Quilatoa Loop

This was located very close to the bus station which made it a great place to stay before leaving for the Quilotoa Loop. The owner and staff were friendly and helpful. Stored our bags for free while we did the loop. This is not a fancy or luxurious place. Very basic place to rest your head until the next day.

Conveniently located and does the trick

It's a great location and dorm is nice and spacious. The beds are bigger than what you usually get in the hostels. But most importantly, the main host, is a nice guy with vast knowledge about hikes in Quilotoa and other Ecuadorian destinations. It is worth seeing him at 8pm each day and ask any questions you may have!!

Not sure if someone had a bad day but female member of staff was very unpleasant, almost rude... that ruined the whole image of the hostel... sadly.
