Beautiful volcano views. The manager, Juan Carlos, was very friendly and helpful. A very bumpy drive for a few miles before arrival. Every room has a log fire which they lit for us.Downside was we were unable to get a coffee early in the morning. There are no facilities in the room.

Good volcano views from rooms and the restaurant

We enjoyed a wonderful couple of nights here - very comfortable hotel with lovely staff and great food and - the icing on the cake- sensational, ever changing views of the spectacular volcano Cotopaxi. A bit of a bumpy ride to get there, but definitely worth the effort! 

Worth going  the extra mile for!

Unique hotel experience in a great setting. A lovely countryside Spanish hacienda style building with dramatic interiors and large rooms with aspects from both sides; all get a view of the rolling green hills and main volcano Cotopaxi. 

Lovely breakfast and dining room with further views. Good menu selection of popular items including fish, beef and chicken. Breakfast was served rather than help yourself. But you got what you would expect. Main lounge and bar has a drawing room feel with perfectly styled decorations. Solid bar selection of your beers and wines. The hotel is also great for events like weddings. Downstairs was a large room for a big gathering.

Long corridors lead to room floors and also outside to a heated pool room. The depth is less than a metre so difficult to swim. But great to relax in like a big warm bath and you can look out at the countryside. There is no lifts but staff get your cases to each of the three floors. 

Rooms are huge and mine had two double beds, a big bathroom and shower room. Window has view of volcano too. The room windows are massive and can be opened to view the volcano properly. Due to poor weather during the day all guests on our tour got up to see the view from 6am. It was a magical experience and fun to see everyone either on balconies or hanging outside windows, or in the grounds. It was somewhat cold the time we were there so you could ask staff to put on the real fires that are in everyone’s room. These can then be managed by you or you call the fireman to come up and help get it going again or add wood. Up to you. This aspect is pretty cool and perhaps romantic for some. I did find the fire did not make my room as warm as I wanted and needed to add the extra blankets. 

The grounds have some children’s play area and this side has stunning views. You can also go on walks in the area. Note the hotel is away from the towns so you get there via farm style roads that are quite bumpy.

Staff are wonderful. Big shout out to Juan and his beautiful pet dog. He and the staff were very attentive and you felt looked after all the time. A lovely stay at a stunning hotel with a breathtaking setting.

It is a great place to stay. Wonderful views, good food and magnificent service. Staff were always there willing to help. I am planning on returning there soon. Up to now, the best hotel that I have stayed at in Ecuador.

Great hotel

It is a pleasure to find professionals with an outstanding service. I recently had the opportunity to visit the hotel and had the best experience. We were welcomed with high standards service. We also dine in their restaurant and the food was delicious and fresh. While we had dinner, they turn the fire place in our room which was an amazing detail. We also reserved the horse riding a Tito y which was spectacular. Thank you for making our Cotopaxi a great memory.

Outstanding service and accommodations

Excellent hotel if you want to have the best view to Cotopaxi Volcano and great gateway to visit Cotopaxi National Park. Our room had a view to Cotopaxi and to the other mountains too, a chimenea and a superb bathroom. The highlight of the room was the shower with super water pressure and at the right temperature for cold weather.
All personnel was very nice and super friendly and food at the restaurant was amazing ( go for the locro soups!) .

What a beautiful hotel and wonderful people.   We only stayed one night but wished it was longer.  The staff at the hotel made our stay extra special.  They went out of the way to make everything perfect and it was.  The views from our room were  incredible and the food was delicious.  The owner recommended a great little hike which we really enjoyed and the manager helped organize a horse ride.  We hope to visit again soon.  Do yourself a favor and visit this charming, beautiful hotel you won't regret it!

Beautiful Get Away

What a beautiful Hotel! A definite rare find and you couldn’t ask for a more picturesque place to visit. The hotel was rustic and beautiful. Food was delicious with great service. We were greeted by Juan Carlos and he made us feel right at home. Cotopaxipungo is a must see if you’re ever in the Quito area.

A Rare and Scenic Get away!

I personally would like to feel comfortable and cared for when the altitude is challenging enough. Fantastic views from every window of your room, including the bathroom, a fireplace in the room to keep you as warm as possible :)  Amazing staff, makes you feel welcome from the moment you enter.

Would love to come back. The place touched my heart.

Hear Warming Experience

Just a spectacular hotel with an equal view and surrounding area. The Hotel is Huge!. Fabulous rooms with fireplaces, gigantic dining area, great sitting areas etc. The surrounding area is just incredible and beautiful..... What a place.
ISSUE: We were like the only guests, felt a little like a young Jack Nicholson in "The Shining" ......**RedRum**
