What really made me stay at this hotel for my three weeks in Olon is the staff. The people responsible for the hotel (the owner was away) during my stay were always there to help. We shared meals, cooked, ate together and had great conversations. I fell sick the last two weeks of my stay and I felt safe knowing the staff was keeping an eye on me. They helped me with my laundry for a very small price and cleaned my room every 4 days. They accommodated me with my dog (German shepherd) by placing me in a room facing the street with a fenced balcony where I could attach her while I went to do volunteer work. She was welcome to come inside my room too with no problem. There was AC in the room, a fan and windows that open so it was always the perfect temperature in my room. Also the hot water was always working. My only complaint is the WiFi... Being in a room on the side of the building and not the center I did not have WiFi more than half the time and had to go to the lobby or living room to get any connection. It was a big downside especially since I was sick and bedridden for two weeks.

Very comfortable stay

We hightailed it from one hotel too far and landed into this newish hotel.  They were still in the process of getting the section we stayed in open, so not everything was fully  in order.  But super clean tile floors.  The room we had was Room 25, facing the ocean.  It had an outer area with a bunk bed (w. no mattress) and a ceiling fan.  You go through another door and there was a chest of drawers with a double bed and a bunk bed.  Because of this outer area, I believe it also made it much quieter to sleep.

The mattresses, as commented elsewhere, were softer than the slab of cement for beds ubiquitous throughout Ecuador.  The bathroom had a clean shower with the promised hot water (make sure to check, as most hotels lie)  The A/C worked fabulously.  There was a television.

They could use some hooks or towel racks in the bathroom, somewhere to put your soap in the shower; and extra towel might be nice, but all in all we were impressed with the cleanliness and how new and how much cheaper it was than the other hotel much farther away $60.

Great Value

I visited Olon with 4 of my friends and loved my stay at L'Encanto, which is the suites part of Susi's Boon Hotel.  we had a huge duplex suite with three bedrooms, very nice clean baths (one had very cool tilework), and a fully equipped kitchenette with a large fridge.  the suite had a lot of space, and could fit about 10 people easily.  It also had it's own washing machine.  The hotel is close to some great seafood places and the beach.  I really enjoyed the relaxed atmosphere of this beautiful little beach town.  Highly recommended!

Amazing time in Olon!

We left the hotel we were staying at as the heat was killing us. The other place had no AC or TV. The wind had dropped and the humidity was staggering. We looked around Olon and found this place. I was one happy camper. AC was great, and bed was softer than most of the granite ones you normally stay on. Owner spoke English, and had no problems with my friends staying at another hotel, coming over to watch the Superbowl on their TV that is in the Lobby. Superbowl sucked, but the hotel is where we will stay the next time we visit the beach. Only negative was the toilet area. It was made for an itty bitty person. But that was a small thing, compared to the rest of the place.

Great place for the price

Susi's Boon is a comfortable series of three linked hosteria very close to the beach in Olon. Everything is clean any well maintained with modern facilities like cable TV and air conditioning. No pool or fitness centre - it is not that sort of place.  I stayed for 4 nights and had a courtyard room in the original Susi's Boon. Very friendly people though the English is a bit mixed. A bit of Spanish really helps. Easy to get to Montanita for the night life but Olon is quiet and the perfect place to relax after the fun! No meals at the hosteria but plenty of little places around for good and well priced meals. Breakfast in the huts on the beach is restorative. Although not luxurious, this is a good value and highly recommended place.
