There was no water, the bathroom was bad, we asked for a cup of tea as soon as we arrived from the Quilotoa night trek, until we refused, when only the kettle had to be lit. We lit the fireplace on our own. Very badly, they make you pay the full amount before you hand over the room. Anyone who sees the room that touches him would leave immediately.

No, it's not like that.

The hostel offers a real rest, the staff is charming and available, the different chimneys in the common areas make the atmosphere warm. The price of the room includes a typical Ecuadorian dinner and a well-provided breakfast. Only a small amount of humidity persists in the rooms.

Very good stay.

Place is dirty and full of mold growing on the walls and on the bed. The smell of mold is unbelievable and impregnates all the building. During the night is super cold. We booked 2 nights and escaped during 1. Lobby is dark and dirty.  We have travelled across the world but this is by far the worst hotel ever.

A place with potential but totally uselessness, cold water, broken toilet, never caught the heater, stained sheets, and the worst part of the attention, one of the guys in the kitchen was totally rude at dinner time after I asked him for almost 2 hours for the meal, and that added to that gave the impression that from the boy's dissatisfaction the meal was altered, they wasted half an afternoon on that, I don't recommend it at all.

A total disaster of place.

Such a cozy hostel with Humberto's warm welcome!  Cups of hot tea in hand, smiling and ready to warm our room by lighting the wood stove in our room. Dinner included and delicious, good hot showers, comfortable bed. We loved our stay at this hostel!

Yes, it can get cold in Quilotoa, but Humberto did his best to make sure we felt warm. He also offered us a free coffee when we returned from the Laguna de Quilotoa hike/loop.

Our highlight was definitely the wood burner right next to our bed in the bedroom :D

The perfect place to stay in Quilotoa for a warm welcome!

The accommodation is obviously run by a family that also operates a small restaurant in Quilotoa. Positive: The crater is only a stone's throw away! Acceptable for one night - we had a room with heating fans that ran all night long! The accommodation is limited and recommended for backpackers and short stays. We also could note some shortcomings in the condition of the accommodation, but which could also be compensated by the friendliness of the operator and his family.

For one night, it's acceptable!

Room for backpackers but at a high price. Bathroom without handle, window overlooking a mud wall. There was short circuit in the hotel and we had no light or internet at night until midday the next day. Paying with credit card charges 12% more than the recommended cash payment.

Quiloto is worth it.

Super friendly family business, spacious rooms and a super large, extra cozy double bed (this one is worth mentioning), all very clean. The bathroom was small and only cool water, for cat laundry and one night was fine. Although we had no reservation, the family still cooked us a very good dinner with pre, main and after-dinner. Considering the exposed location at almost 4000 m above sea level, a pleasant surprise. The location was also very good, just 10 minutes walk away. Very nice family business.

First off the place is freezing cold. They have wood stoves, but it too him at least half an hour to start the fire in our home. We also asked twice if he could help the fire in the common area because it was going out and he never did. My friend waited over an hour for fries. They also had no dry towels so I had to use my shirt. The bathroom had no toilet paper. My pizza took a long time. Also dinner is not included and there’s several other hostels in town for the same price that include dinner.

Terrible service 

The hotel is in a great location, within walking distance of the lagoon. The room was very cold, despite the oven running, especially in the bathroom. A comfortable bed with a warm blanket, so it was generally comfortable to sleep. A good breakfast is included in the room price.
