The manager was very kind and hospitable. Clean room and bathroom, with hot water! However, poor insulation (awakened at 5am by the neighbor who was taking his shower). Our bedroom door was not locked, we had to leave our belongings unattended despite our discussion with the staff... nothing was stolen.

The bottom line is...

Without a doubt, Otavalo is an excellent option, I stayed at this Hotel twice, it was spectacular, the service and facilities, it is in a very good location. Really a good option for a rest in Otavalo!!and totally grateful to the team at Otavalo Inn, they were attentive and kind!

This is excellent!!!

I and my friends have spent in Hostal Otavalo one night during our journey. We had four rooms. There were clean and cosy. We were happy because taken hot shower was possible in there. 
Price was 16$ per person and the price consists tasty breakfast (fried eggs, coffee,juice,tea, crispy rolls, jam, cocoa, butter).

We can recommend this hostel for sure. 

Great place in Otavalo 

We had booked this hotel because of its good quality-price ratio and good reviews regarding the reception. The rooms are indeed clean, we had a private wedding room with a private SDB and there is nothing to say about the accommodation. However, the hotel staff has probably changed because the host couple is regularly absent and not very professional. We cannot ask them for advice on the region or tourism in Otavalo because we feel they are disturbing them, the couple also leaves their dirty dishes in the public areas and most importantly, we found them alone in the common areas of the hotel on a Sunday from 6pm... so do not expect a professional service.

Mixed stay

I booked a single bed room online through Hostel World with a private ensuite bathroom. When I arrived, they put me in a four bed dorm instead, and I showed him my reservation, which explicitly said a private ensuite room. He told me that that wasn't right, and it showed on his computer that I had booked for a four bedroom dorm. And he insisted that the price my reservation showed was the price for a four bed dorm (11.25), and I could get a private ensuite, but it would be more. I was really stretched for cash and didn't care too much at this point, so I stayed in the dorm. Luckily enough, the other two people didn't even show up, so I did wind up having a room to myself.

Other than that, the hostal was decent. The rooms were nice and clean, the shower had hot water with decent pressure, and there were TVs in the dorms. The wifi was a little weird and didn't always work. Overall, it was a fine place to sleep for the night. 

Oh, it also said that breakfast was included in my stay and it wasn't. Meh.

PRICING ONLINE ISN'T CORRECT! DIDN'T GET THE ROOM I BOOKED

I booked a room for myself prior to traveling to Otavalo.  Two friends and walked around for 30 minutes before we found it (dark, uncomfortable for 3 women).  Showed up around 8pm, the woman couldn't check me in.  Waited 20 minutes for her husband, then they said somethinf was wrong with my room and asked me to wait 15 more minutes.  I cancelled my reservation and stayed at Hotel Santa Fe.  I paid $2 more than I would have at this hostel, and felt much cleaner and safer.  They seemed like lovely people, but I had a bad feeling and wasn't going to stay alone somewhere I wasn't comfortable.

We stayed one night in the "Family Suite" which consisted of two bunk beds, and a queen size bed in an upstairs loft, a full kitchen and living room and one bathroom.  The room was very clean and spacious, perfect for our family of four.  Our only complaints are that the loft has a ceiling that is all glass, beautiful for looking out, but very bright when the sun rises at 6am.  There is also a rooster on the roof next door to the suite which likes to start to crow at 4:00 am and is very loud.  We were never able to get the wireless to work.
Also note that Carlos and his staff are wonderful, friendly, and helpful.  They prepared a full breakfast for us, called taxi's for us, and really tried to take care of us and this was greatly appreciated.  We would recommend this hotel to others as long as they are aware of the few concerns we mentioned.

Good clean place to stay with great staff

I arrived late at night, the manager Carlos, brought tea to my room free of charge. The room was clean, spacious, comfortable mattress & soft pillows (a relief after rock hard pillows elsewhere). The breakfast was 2 eggs, fresh croissants (I saw Carlos buying them fresh in the morning before breakfast along with the fruit for the fresh juice they serve). There are 3 possible wifi's so you can always get a signal. I returned for 2 more nights so I could enjoy the Saturday market in Otavalo. I am traveling on a budget, so this hotel was a special treat. I was there during the earthquake, Carlos was present, keeping everyone calm & overseeing the hotel. This is a well managed place with excellent customer service. Very affordable!

I returned to Otavalo and went to this hostel on recommendation and the truth was that it was a very good stay, it was close to the interesting places, the sleep was quiet like everything else in Otavalo jejje.

It's clean, with good rooms and the best they have is the service provided by the staff! In Ecuador in general we are met with a lot of attention! They also help you with the tour packages so they make everything easier. It's worth it! I recommend it! It has free wifi and parking!
