Very nice place run by a very friendly, welcoming and helpful family. Initially booked 3 nights ended up staying almost 3 weeks! I had such a nice time. Very centric, because it's such a small town, everything within walking distance. Super clean, fresh linens every other day. Hot water, good pressure. The room was very spacious, had a small fridge, refillable water, very convenient and lots of light. I didn't want to leave. They have such a nice place, it was very comfortable. They were also very kind to help me with the salvoconducto, arrange a ferry to another island, lend me cutlery, a snorkel, assist me with local information, they were really really nice and made me feel very comfortable. Cannot recommend it enough!!!

I spent 6 nights in this hostel.
Pro: quite cheap for a solo room in Santa Cruz.
Good wifi compared to all other places I went to in the Galapagos.
Con: the hours when you can use the kitchen are quite restrictive, put I personally was able to use it outside of those periods, early in the morning for the breakfast.

Nice room, good wifi, not so far from the center

The hostel is about 5 to 10 minutes from the port. Its boss is friendly but does not speak English. Towels were provided. The rooms were equipped with a fan and a small cupboard. There is a water dispenser and even a fan available for free. The WiFi was not the best - but this is a general problem on the islands. The only shortcoming - the water was cold. There is a boiler - but it was set to low.

Good and cheap

We were attracted here by the possibility of spending little on the double room (about 30 USD a night). No one knew it when we went and found a taxi to take us there was a real job! Look for the address if you decide to stay and look for it, it's a corner and it's not so signposted! Despite the slightly uncomfortable position to go to the center where to eat, take the boats, etc., the room was clean and ordered, a little cluttered at night (we were on the ground floor just after entrance but they definitely have quieter rooms). Opening the water at night to wake up the whole neighborhood that, probably, in action means a very hot pump (or a wind, they know and they don't even have the toilet seat, I don't think they left the toilet seat).

Cleanliness and cordiality away from the centre

People came to pick us up at the port exit and offered us accommodation not far away. After more than 15 minutes of walking, we arrived at the small lodging that looks good despite its remote location from the center. We negotiated a good price for a stay of five nights. We paid for a little more than two nights meaning that we would pay the balance later. After the second night, the owner waited for us outside our room to inform us that we must leave the hotel right away since other people had booked our room. After a trial of discussions, without results, we leave the hotel without being notified the day before. We were refunded an excess amount, because the customers took too long to make the room. We were not talking about the room.

Worst service

I stayed in the upstairs room and recommend it- I think there is a downstairs room too. This is several blocks off the malecon from the fish market- perfect if you're ok walking the uneven road. Very affordable and VERY spacious- there is a sleeping room and a sitting room with a basin/sink, plus the bathroom, so you could easily prepare food here and spread out a bit. Wifi was good in the sitting room. Fairly quiet street, breezy room with a big fan, very safe and clean, nice bed and bedding. A purified drinking water dispenser is available in the common area below. The manager was very nice. This was by far my fave of 3 budget accommodations I stayed at in Puerto Ayora (Crossman Hotel and Nuevo Elizabeth Hostel were the others I reviewed).
