Hostal La Posada De Jose Carlos

We stayed three nights at Hostal La Posada De Jose Carlos. Our room was spacious, immaculately clean, the bed was very comfortable, the air conditioning deliciously cool, and the shower comfortably warm. Towels were folded like swans and flowers. We enjoyed having a balcony with a view of blossoming trees. It was nice to have a mini-fridge also with chilled water. Breakfast each morning was delicious. Fruit juice, even fruit smoothies. Eggs cooked to order. Mixed seasonal fresh fruit--pineapple, cantaloupe, papaya. Warm breads with butter and jelly. We could refill our water bottles with purified water in the breakfast courtyard. The location was excellent. A 5 minute walk took us to restaurants, shops, bakeries, ice cream treats. A 25 minute walk (or 5 minutes in a taxi) would take us to the interpretation center, and trailhead to Frigate Bird Hill (Cerro Tijeretas). Likewise, a 25 minute walk in the opposite direction (or 5 minutes in a taxi, less than 10 minutes by bike) would take us to the trailhead of La Loberia Beach (Sea Lion Beach). Bicycles, provided at no extra charge by the hotel, were a joy to ride. On our last morning we took one last ride, to see the sun rise over La Loberia Beach and then pedaled to the port to make one more memory of baby sea lions on the beaches and adult sea lions on park benches. The hotel managers and housekeeping staff were very gracious and quite professional. Though their English was limited, and we had very limited Spanish, we were able to communicate what was needed.
