I really enjoyed staying in this hotel. My room was clean and spacious and it was cleaned daily. The hotel provides filtered water, which was great. The hitel was family owned and everyone was super helpful and friendly, despite the occasional language barrier. Walking distance to the beaches and small city centre, peaceful location. The only minus comes from nit so good sound proofing between the rooms.

Great location, spacious room, friendly staff

My husband and I have recently returned from a trip to the Galapagos Islands.  Our trip to the Galapagos was land based and NOT cruising.  We had 4 nights on San Cristobal and would have loved to have had a few more days there, but our itinerary unfortunately didn’t allow us to do so. 

The Property : DO NOT JUDGE A BOOK BY ITS COVER, that’s all I am going to say.  I will be honest.  When we first arrived, we were like, "hmmm, this is pretty basic.  We knew it would be basic, but maybe not this basic”.  However, that lasted less than a few hours and we had totally changed our minds.

Location : It is located in a little side street up one of the main streets from the water.  It is a super easy walk to the main street and to shops and some great restaurants.  There is wonderful little cafe open down the end of the street called Fresco Cafe (as the B&B doesn’t do breakfast), opened for breakfast and lunch.  I highly recommended it.  There are a few places that you can get groceries if you need these in town.  The property is also within easy walking distance to a swimming beach.  And if you are lucky, can swim with the fur seals and see plenty of iguanas wandering around.

Accommodation : Our room was located up stairs and on the left - no room number.  It was a large room with a king size bed and a seating area where we could put our luggage and spread out.  The bathroom was big with lots of room to move about.  There was also a balcony off the bedroom with a hammock that you could relax in if you had the time.  The ocean was off in the distance.  The room was clean and so was the rest of the hotel.

Food and Staff : There was a communal kitchen area where you could keep your items for breakfast and snacks if you wanted.  However, this was not something that we did, but I know that others did.  The owners were friendly and helped us with recommendations for restaurants, tours and different things to do on the island.  All of which were great options.

Pricing : The hotel is amazing value for what you get - accommodation and the great location.  I don’t believe it can be beat.  It has everything that you need; good accommodation, great location, air-con and wi-fi and is clean.  What more do you need.  I’m so glad we chose this option, instead of paying 3 - 4 times more somewhere else.

Overall, the B&B exceeded our expectations and I would not hesitate to recommend it to others who are looking for good accommodation in San Cristobal at a very affordable price.

Super Affordable Accommodation in a Great Location

Four of us (2 couples- 2 private rooms) stayed for three nights while on San Cristóbal. The owner’s son Ivan was incredibly welcoming and speaks very good English. He recommended some local activities and tours, which really helped us make the most of our visit. 

Both rooms were bright, clean and spacious with comfortable beds and great A/C. The location was a short walk from everything we wanted to do which was perfect for us and being off the tourist boardwalk, it was nice and quiet. Rooms were tidied for us daily which was a nice added touch. 

Shared kitchen space was clean and had a great vibe. Drinking water was provided and we met some lovely people on evening who we ended up running into on other islands which was fun.

Absolutely Loved Staying here

I loved my stay at La Casita de la Isla — it’s a little removed from the main tourist drag which means it’s quieter (my preference) but still close to everything. It’s family-owned by great people, has a hip/funky artist feel that I liked, and a friendly resident cat Monkey on the grounds. Room and bed were comfortable and you get full use of the outdoor kitchen + common area to eat and hang out. Really nice owners and overall a great stay; I would come back.
