 A few days before my trip, I upgraded to the triple room with ocean view and I'm so glad I did. I ended up in a room with 4 beds on the top floor (the Escalesia room) and it had a spectacular view of the beach. On my first morning, I watched blue-footed boobies diving for breakfast without leaving my room, and on my last morning, I watched the beautiful sunrise over the ocean from my bed!

It's a very nice-sized room with plenty of hooks for hanging clothes & wet items to dry. Abel is an accommodating host. He both picked me up and dropped me off at the airport. If he's not around on property, he's easy to get ahold of via WhatsApp. The WiFi worked great on property and in my room. Nice warm water in the shower.

I loved La Jungla's quiet location near the end of the beach—right next to the walkway along the wetlands toward the tortoise center and at the beginning of the trek to the Wall of Tears. It was really like having a private beach just steps away. And the walk into the main part of town is very short.

The property doesn't serve breakfast, but there is a kitchen to make your own meals, and a cafe very close (right next to Iguana Crossing hotel), where I enjoyed two delicious breakfasts. In the evening, it was lovely to enjoy empanadas & a cerveza from Yummy Yummy or a coconut at the Pink Iguana and then stroll the peaceful beach as I watched sea life activity on my way back to La Jungla.

A Perfect Stay in Isabela

I have to say that I was so impressed with the service of this hotel! Upon our arrival, Abel, the owner, welcomed us as soon as we got off the taxi. He took us to our room and said he was always available for anything. Wow! We got a room with the view to the ocean! The room was simple , two beds , one for one person and another one for two persons. The bathrooms was simple, as well! Do not expect anything luxury, but basic! We stayed 2 nights. They have a kitchen and you have the option to make your own coffee. They offer complimentary water. We had a late boat back to Santa Cruise and Abel was so nice to store our luggage. I have to say that the rooms and bathroom are in need of some upgrades, but overall they were great. They are working on another building in the property, so at the time of our stay it was some construction noise. Other than that , no complaints. The hotel is at the end of the village, yet pretty close just by walking. Not a big deal at all. Plus, the rooms have air conditioner which is a plus.

This is not an upscale hotel.  We had what looked to be termite droppings in the room, and the windows were a bit clouded.  Also don't expect good internet.  But that said, we would absolutely stay there again.  The location, just back from the beach, is amazing.  The beach is great for surfing and boogie boarding or just enjoying a soak.  It's a very easy walk into town (dodging marine lizards along the way) but far enough away to be absolutely quiet at night.  

They would also serve breakfast for $5, and there were kitchen facilities to enjoy.

Excellent location on the beach just out of town, close enough to walk to the fresh market for fruit, vegetables and the bakery, one street past the market.  Great helpful people and a friendly small town with a lot to experience right here!  Best part of our Galapagos trip yet.

Fantastic beach and soothing surf on edge of town.

La Jungla was perfect in every way for our retreat — Abel & his staff are terrific, and did everything to make us feel welcome. Being “off the beaten path” but still right on the beach is magical. 

I would only stay here if I returned.

Perfect Isabela Retreat

We normally stay at national chain hotels.  This place is a bit rustic but it is perfect.  So close to the beach you hear the waves crash.  Ask for the room above the office.  Very private and amazing views.  On a map this looks like it may be out of the way but is just a few minute walk to the town center.  They offer free breakfast.  The staff and owner were very friendly.

Excellent Value Private Beach

I spent a week here for a yoga retreat and had a fantastic stay.  The location is great- it's close to town but a few steps away, which makes for a more private feel.  I had a sea-view room, which was incredible to wake up to every morning.  Direct access to essentially a private beach was a big plus.  This is the closest hotel to one of the more popular surf breaks on Isabella.  The staff and service are amazing- they even made me a special birthday breakfast.  I will definitely be staying again!  Thank you Abel!

Great spot, private beach, near attractions

Isabela was the final stop of our Galapagos Trip and we were so glad it was. The island is beautiful and relaxing and our stay at La Jungla was key in our positive experience there!

The Manager Abel was very friendly and welcoming upon our arrival. He even arranged a Sierra Negra tour for us for the next day! The rooms were clean and bright with great AC and great showers. We had a beautiful ocean view and were able to fall asleep listening to the sounds of the waves. The only downside was when we left our outside light on when we went out at night , there were bugs all over the door but there is nothing the hotel could do about that-just something to keep in mind if you’re staying!

Kitchen was nice-there was a water dispenser with cold, room temperature and boiling water on demand which was great. 

The hotel is a bit of a hike from the pier (which can feel longer due to the heat) but the walk itself is nice and the hotel is very close to the tortoise sanctuary, boardwalk and the start of the trail to the Wall of Tears. We found this perfect for us but some may want to be closer to the pier/Concha de la Perla.

Beautiful Beach View and great service

This hotel has great seaview rooms.  I had an inner but wasn't disappointed at all, Clean and quiet with a great shower.  They've just built a kitchen with fridge and stove for everyone to use.  Abel the owner was extremely helpful--bike rentals, sorting out a very early return taxi to the airport.  Loved this place.

Lovely place at the end of town

I love the location of La Jungla, it is at the end of Puerto Villamil, just next to Poza de flamencos. The room was comfortable with a nice view to the beach and sea and good hot shower, it could have some hangers though. All hotel staff and especially Abel were very friendly and willing to help us with everything. Walking distance from the pier, which is on the other side of the town, is 20min, to the center 5-10min. I can totally recommend this hotel for all lovers of privacy and comfortable stays :)
