This hotel is in an excellent place in front of the beach........Host and owner is a great artist, interesting to talk with.....he can advice where to go and what to do because he works in tours sometimes as a guide traveller......at night you can go to the hamocks if front of the beach to enjoy stars, as there is no light in the front of the beach...

Quite and not so many lights at night !

Very basic hotel - no meals served and no bar- but right on the beach. My room had a lovely view of the ocean. Aircon did not work but I liked having the window open for sea breeze and the sound of the sea. Breakfast is taken at another hotel next door.Short walk int town where there are plenty of restaurants to choose from.

Economy hotel on the beach

Well, the location is great. The hotel is right on the beach. You step outside and you're on the beach, you can snorkel and enjoy the sun. To get to the hotel you need to go through the back alley passing private residences with dogs, chickens etc. No big deal, just unexpected. The problem is the room. We stayed in the room on the first floor with 3 beds. It is absolute crap. The bathroom is crap. It requires complete remodeling. The hotel itself needs upkeep. It is not as nice as on the pictures on booking.com. The lady who gave us a key, did not speak English, she called someone who I could talk to.  You can fill in the water bottle if she is in the office. It feels not like a hotel, but rather a room with no services. It's overpriced. (Hotel does not accept CC. Cash only.)

Great location, crappy room

The facilities here are a bit basic but the location makes up for it. Right on the beach with early morning wildlife action (sealion v pelicans, iguanas, crabs, birds). My room overlooked the beach, was spacious and very quiet. No tv or room safe, soap the only toiletries. The aircon was rather weak and there was no openable window so the room was rather stuffy and airless. Filtered water and wi-fi (strong enough for emails but not attachments) was available in the reception office, along with various information. We had to take breakfast at another property a couple of doors down the beach and the ability to make a cup of tea or coffee on site would have been welcome. Only a few minutes walk from the restaurants, bars, shops and church (worth a look inside at the stained glass windows) all found around the square. A few hammocks and wooden tables and seats outside. Tranquil but basic.

Basic but a great beach location

The location is hard to beat, right on a fine beach, frequented by locals with good swimming.  The hotel could be a nice place but it needs some serious maintenance and simple touches that could make it comfortable for guests.  For example, there absolutely no chairs, inside or out, only a couple of very uncomfortable right-angled benches.  The hammocks in the listing photos are kept in the office; guests may hang them up if they want, but at their own risk, and not to be left unattended.  The air conditioning worked in our room, though not in all rooms, and not without having to pester the owner for batteries for the controller.  The toilet also needed repair during our stay.  Overall, we found that the quality of the hotel didn’t match what was suggested in the pictures, nor what we would have expected for the price.
