Better neighborhood than the historic center. Plenty of restaurants and bars close by. Friendly hotel staff. Large room. But, noise is a big problem. The whole room shakes when buses drive by the hotel. Room was not sound proof. i could hear motor cycles, cars, people talking, honking, and loud buses all day/night. Breakfast was ok.

We stayed at the yellow house for two weeks in October and November. We really enjoyed our stay. Gabi, Shanti and Tony are excellent hosts.  The breakfasts are outstanding and the fresh fruit was delicious.  Gabi was very helpful recommending area attractions and organizing a private driver to take us up to the textile market in Otavalo as well as Cotacachi on 30 minutes notice.  We were welcome to hang out in the kitchen and Tony even made Venezuelan arepas which were absolutely delicious!

Excellent stay, great hosts!

Gabby and her daughter were so kind and helpful! They would check in with us on our plans and would help give recommendations. I was traveling with my two girl friends and the Yellow House felt very safe and our room was comfortable. Even on mornings when we had early tours they would be ready at 6:30 with breakfast. Great place to stay in this area with hosts who will look out for you! 

Great and safe stay at Yellow House!

The Yellow House is a big classic house. It's so clean and calm. It's also well located in the city center with Alot of restaurant and coffeeshops surrounding The hotel. The Host Gabi is wonderful she gave me a lot of informations about Ecuador. Loved the breakfast. Thank you!

The Yellow House is nice and clean. kind Host. Well located in a nice area. 

Owners Gabi and Rudy ate welcoming and helpful. The setting is in the heart of Fuch with restaurants and the Artisinal Market a short walk away. The rooms are very clean and comfortable. Shower is hot with good pressure. Breakfast is not included but can be added for a nominal fee.  We left early so we didn’t eat breakfast there.  They were more than happy to provide but we usually don’t eat at 7 am. The sitting area is comfortable and allows for social distancing.  Free WiFi and if you want you can even play with their two small dogs. A great find as our usual hotel is closed at the moment.

A budget gem

The location of the hostel is good, right next to Plaza Foch. Good nightlife, bars and restaurants nearby. The hotel is very safe with a 24 hour reception.
The owners are multilingual and friendly.
The house itself would be nice as it creates a mansion atmosphere. However, the house is old and in need of renovation. We have seen more beautiful hostels on our Ecuador journey. The rooms are old-fashioned and have no charm. The bathroom was integrated afterwards as an open space in the room, which gives a strange picture and leaves no privacy. 
The hotel offers a good, simple breakfast, which is included in the price.
However, the negative points must always be seen in relation to the price. It is very cheap, because of that, one should not expect much more luxury. All in all, a good choice for a short stay in Quito if you don't want to spend too much money.

Central, friendly, old

Yellow house is a small family run and owned pension in the hart of the "Mariscal" district of Quito (New town).  Mother and daughter go out of there way to make you feel welcome and to help you to organize your further trip. 
They speak german and english. 
Breakfast was included in the room price.

Very friendly and welcoming

Yellow House is in a great location, where we were steps to the Hop on Bus, Plaza Foch, many restaurants, and a laundry service. The owner and her daughter were very helpful. I would recommend to have them book your taxi to the airport for $25. They offer a breakfast consisting of a bun, cheese, fruit , juice and tea/coffee. Eggs are additional $. (Not much) 
We stayed 2 different times. First when we landed in Quito and then after the Galapagos. 
Our room the first visit was in the main building. It was lovely with a table, chairs and futon in front of a window. The room was classified as deluxe double. The bathroom was a bit tight, but still functional. 
Our room for the second visit was in the back section- classified as a double. While the size of the room was sufficient, we found the bed too small. The bathroom had glass walls with a curtain to pull when you are in there ( worked well enough). 
I recommend asking for a room in the main building and a deluxe double for the larger bed. 
We were able to store our bags after checkout which was very helpful. 
There is no heat and the room will be chilly . There is a blanket but it’s not super thick. 
There are courtyards throughout the property where you can sit in the sun and warm up . 
Ask the owner and her daughter for tour recommendations. 
There definitely are some repairs that need to be done to the house, but if you can overlook them you will find good value for the $ here . 


Stayed 2 times

I was flying to Quito with my dad to meet my brother who's travelling round south america. We booked this for our first 2 night in Quito as it had good reviews, but we had intended moving somewhere else after. We ended up staying 4 nights then another 2 before we returned home. 
The owner and her daughter we so kind and helpful and the rooms were great. They are big and clean and very comfortable. It's super close to the main square but still surprisingly quiet. Can't recommend it enough.

Amazing hostel,

This is a simple basic hotel with very economical rates. Everything needed for a stay is there, everything works, and it is clean. Breakfast is simple but adequate. Filtered water is available in the dining room to fill water bottles. Water in the shower is hot and plentiful.

Located right in the heart of the Mirascal, half a block from Fuchs plaza, it is an easy walking distance to all the restaurants the area is known for. It can get a bit noisy on weekends, but you don't stay in this location to hang out in a quiet room. The area is party central for Quito.

Security is excellent. The staff is helpful and attentive. I had a minor plumbing problem in my room, the manager immediately moved me to another room with no questions.
