That was our second time in Marsa Nakari and the most enjoyable it was. Many staff members recognized us from last year and we felt welcome. The upgrades to the cafeteria and diving areas were super, with much more space in both/ We have been to Marsa Shagra several times, and we now prefer Nakari. There were some diving groups, but they were very friendly and we were not at all left out because we were only three. The trip booking went fine. We also did a day trip to Luxor: a super English-speaking guide, and it was good to see the spectacular sites there again. The crew was superb as always, and we thank Mahmoud for his warm welcome. The crew succeeds in making diving and snorkeling lots of fun; what would one wish for more?  The restaurant was at its best and every meal was delicious. In the luxury chalet, the shower booth is a welcome addition. The attention to cleanliness at the cafeteria and restaurant toilets is superb: very important. a great week at the end of the year it was and we will be back!



So nice to be back!

We visited as part of a trip visiting both Marsa Shagra and Nakari. It is much quieter and smaller than Marsa Shagra which has its pros and cons. The dive shade is much less busy, staff are much more friendly and attentive, the overall vibe is much calmer. Food options are much more limited though (no vegan milk for example), and toilets and showers aren’t cleaned as frequently as Shagra. The house reef is less interesting than Shagra but there are nice excursions available. If we came back we would stay in a tent as our royal tent was not on the beach and very close to the toilets and the walkway going to the restaurant which meant we could hear everyone walking back at night.

Friendly staff, great dive centre

We returned to Marsa Nakari after a 13 year absence and spent two fabulous weeks diving the local reefs and generally chilling out (as much as one can chill in 35°c!).
The centre has upgraded many of the key parts of the operation but has managed to keep the feeling of simplicity that us what we love about it.
The dive centre has a huge shaded area with individual lockers for each diver, BIG rinse tanks and individual hanging/drying facilities for suits and bcds. 
It's a very short walk across the beach to the jetty and shore dive entry point. Local dives can be shore-shore or a zodiac will take you out and drop you at an appropriate distance. Longer trips are available and use one of two big ribs fitted with botle racks. 
Things have changed in terms of cost for the non home reef dives, so be prepared
 to pay for more distant destinations.  The dives are "zoned" A-C and are charged accordingly. 
Nitrox is available at €2 per fill, order the day before to ensure there are sufficient tanks. 
The dive centre staff are just fantastic- very helpful,  knowledgeable and multi lingual and there's full rental available if needed. Be aware that things like batteries aren't easily available- buy at the airport 
but be aware that C and D cells aren't sold at airports either!
The cafeteria area has also been upgraded - and its the only place with wi-fi.
On that subject, wi-fi is charged according to the amount of air time you want. A week costs €20, 10 hours is €5. Not unreasonable and its a stable connection. 
Restaurant: buffet style but with a number of staff to bring drinks, clear plates etc. All very friendly and generally lovely!
The kitchen is headed by Chef Waheed who is usually found checking that the guests are happy with the food. There's a good variety of things to tempt the taste buds, plenty of vegetarian options and pasta as well. Food hygiene is clearly taken very seriously here.
Rooms: we stayed in a deluxe chalet with air con, tea and coffee facilities and a fridge. The rooms are simple, comfortable and the bathrooms now feature a proper shower cubicle with a very very good shower.
Diving: the home reefs are showing signs of coral bleaching due to high water temperatures (30°-31°c even down at 25 mtrs) but are still spectacular- especially the South side. Dolphin House lived up to its name with a pod of 40 or so Spinners, we found a resident Reef Whitetip Shark on the south side, fish life is very healthy and includes Leaf Fish and Sea Moths in the sand channel.
All in all a fab place to go. Do it!!


Fantastic two weeks of Red Sea reefs.

This is a gem of a dive resort. Great team make you feel very welcome. 
The food is good, the accommodation is comfortable 
The diving is great House reef and nearby off shore pinnacles with a huge variety of sea life from the very very small to the much larger. 

A very special place 

We went as a couple to Marsa Nakari, generally we had an amazing experience, the staff is very nice, room is very clean and diving was absolutely wonderful!! We saw dolphins during one of our dives which was amazing!! The house reef was amazing with baby sharks living under one of the reef rocks and a turtle which seemed to be residents.

In terms of organization everything is planned very last minute "Egyptian style", but this is also very dependent on weather conditions of course. I personally like going on boat dives, because I enjoy the adventure of going at sea and diving from the zodiac. Marsa Nakari tends to cater for large groups 15+ people, the upside is that these are usually very good divers, the downside is that the Marsa Nakari dive club tends to not want to mix groups by adding one or two divers (that are not part of the group) to the boat trips, the result is that all boats are full and your only option is to dive the house reef, which for me is fine one day but not more. This was unfortunately the case during our stay for multiple days. This for me felt frustrating as the larger groups were considered as VIPs and as a party of one or two people you were left with only one option. 

Apart from that the diving was absolutely marvelous when we got out and we are already planning our next trip to Egypt.

Amazing experience and diving, but careful spots on zodiacs can be limited

First off, we definitely did not receive a warm welcome. Not even a smile when we walked in. The man running reception seemed very annoyed every time I talked to him or asked any type of question. However, everyone else was very nice.

We had just come from their sister property and was only staying at night because the other location was fully booked for our last night. We only planed to snorkel around the property, but got told multiple times while we were there “a night is not enough” because keep in mind, any activity has to be booked a day in advance on the property. This should be mentioned somewhere on the website because we would have picked somewhere else to stay. 

No one informed us of where we could swim or not. We got told off when we were walking in the water. Then got asked why we weren’t informed at checkin? Like it is our fault no one told us. So, a nice guy from the dive center walked us through where we were allow to walk/swim. However, there should be better signs or at least someone to walk you through All the rules when you arrive. There is one sign on the whole beach that says “do not walk on reef” but the beach is sand so you think it would be okay. It’s not, you can only enter the water near the pier/dock.

Overall, it’s a nice place but no one explains how to book any extra activities or how the camp works. I still could not tell you how to book any extra activities and I went there! You kinda have to figure it out on your own and you feel a bit lost. Would be nice if there was someone there to walk you around and explain everything, then I would have know not to walk in the water.

Great place but lacking communication. 

After many times in Marsa Shagra we decided to try Nakari. Good choice. Only enthusiastic divers and snorkelers were there in this quiet season (first half of December). Great crowd to lunch and dine with, in the restaurant that is as good as in Shagra. Same with the diving shop and instructors: great! Friends after a week, never not in for a good plan, excellent instructions and supervision. The house reef is beyond anything seen before, and so are the dive sites. This is the truth! We stayed in a Luxury Chalet. No Aircon is needed in December and totally quiet at night. Marsa Nakari is far from anywhere, and there are no day guests, just your buddies to dive with. The equipment is fine, and the bottles are full. Marsa Nakari is totally recommended. And we plan to come back!

Most relaxing and super diving and snorkeling ever!

This hotel is in a lovely rural location.  I was here for a dive holiday.  The dive facilities were good, and the dive staff were international and overall quite good.

However, IMHO, Nakari is a rip off.  They charge you ‘extras’ for everything.  You can order a coke, and it’s included.  A Diet Coke costs you a euro, per can.  Same product, except for the calories, but it costs more.

Thé diving is the same.  I paid for 10 days of diving for a total of 520 euros, but that only includes the house reef, I.e. the reef right in front of the hotel.  To do any thing else costs 30 to 55 Euros a day.  So now it’s up to 1170 euros for 10 days of diving.

Chatting with other divers, it is  Lear that they got different pricing and benefits if you booked with a travel agent.

They charge a small fortune for Internet. So add another 40 Euros for that.

So if you book with the hotel directly, you can expect a big check out bill.

Looking to move to Hurghada to the Marriott for the balance of the holiday.

The food, is varied, but bland.  Hot sauce is a requirement.

Be prepared to pay extra for everything

Marsa Nakari Village is one of best diving sites in the Red Sea , the owner (Red Sea Diving Safari) is very professional and has long experience in diving business , accommodation was perfect , staff were friendly , diving support was excellent and the house reef is amazing

Amazing diving trip

Apart from the kindness and professionalism of the staff, one of the key advantages of Marsa Nakari is the freedom to go diving on their house reef whenever you want.

It is very liberating and there are six different options that one can choose from (North or South, beach in/out, boat in/out).
