We stayed here in September post the end of the season. On arrival it was clear that the place was quite run down but it was only on entering our room that we realised how bad it actually was. We arrived at reception to be met by a sign saying “call me on xxxx”, which we did. A neighbour arrived about 10 minutes later to let us into our room and this was the only time we saw anyone. She was very pleasant and helpful. Our room was spacious but in need of some attention. It was a little tatty and appeared to have been cleaned a couple of weeks earlier - it smelled a little musty and there were a few cobwebs and dead insects around. But this was nothing - the real problem started after we had fully unpacked and used the bathroom, which was quite in need of a refurbishment. To put it bluntly, it stank! There is clearly an issue with the septic tank and every time we used the sink or shower the whole place was filled with a truly dreadful smell. We could not afford to move onto another place, if any were available anyway, so we stayed 2 nights but did not cook any meals at all as we could not face eating there. On the plus side, the room was spacious and we had full access to the whole area, including a washing machine but with no one on site to talk to it was difficult to say the least. This place needs tidying up, refurbishing in many areas and a full review of the plumbing before anyone should stay here!!
