Our trip to the Christmas markets in Tallinn has been soured by these apartments and the owners. 

We booked the ‘deluxe’ one bed apt with sauna and I’m not sure how they can call this deluxe. The only thing going for this apt was the location and it was clean, although everything is old and tired except the TV.

When booked it stated there would be a sofa bed, however we got there to find it was a sofa with a footstool pushed together, however with laminate flooring the footstool slipped and every time you turned over you came off the edge. Also the mattress cover was stained (see pictures) and the sofa was also stained and old.  There was an old camp bed but this was broken and unusable.

There was a plug socket hanging out of the wall (see pictures) and half the lights didn’t even have lightbulbs in them. The bathroom door handle was coming off so you couldn’t shut the door properly for fear of getting stuck and other cupboards were missing handles. 

The worse problem we had though was trying to get into the apt as the lock didn’t work well and we had to struggle for up to 20 mins to get in each time.  We informed the owners, both by sms and call, who didn’t bother to come and check it or fix it, even though for 2 days they said they would and just kept telling us the key only worked one way!  This was still not fixed or even looked at when we left. We didn’t even get a message to check we had got out OK.  If your guests had a problem with getting in and out of the apt wouldn’t you get this sorted?

To make this even worse the owners told Booking.com that we did not turn up and the reservation has been cancelled! Payment had been made in full to them before arrival and we have copies of all communications with them and also Booking.com have confirmed they can see these on their system. These owners seem to have real problem with providing their guests with any kind of service.

Please don’t believe that these apts are in anyway deluxe or expect any kind of personal service from these owners.

Poor Value for Money

The space is good as are the structural aspects such as floors, wardrobes and kitchen fittings. The location is also good, only a short walk from the Old Town. However when a property is described as luxury, it sets an expectation which unfortunately we did not feel was met. For example, the soft furnishings such as sofas were nothing like the photographs. It lacked any sense of luxury or style with the curtains hanging off the rail at one end and mismatch of 3 different sofas that looked like they had seen better days. Also, while the bathroom was a good size, the actual operation of the shower was feeble. So disappointing. Also, there was a real lack of attention to the basics such as making sure that lights and lamps were in working order. A total of 6 lights were not working (bedroom, hall, kitchen and bathroom). They sent Elena the very nice and helpful cleaner to replace the bedside lamp and promised they would replace the hall lights but that didn’t happen. For the price we paid for 3 nights this was definitely not good value . Finally, we have drawn the owners attention to one of the dining chairs which has two loose front legs and could be dangerous. 

Falls short of their description as 'luxury'

Superbly located apartment right at the entrance of Tallinn's enchanting old city. But no place to park a car in a 1 km radius.
These are two apartments in one. Its quaint and having a sauna is a great plus. Make sure you are given the instructions, though, it's not easy to operate.
Some efforts at appliances could be made and risk of knocking your head on low ceiling at entrance of bathroom.
Double bed confortable, but not easy either to understand how the convertible works.
Nice kitchen.
