One of the best place to stay in Macedonia . 
Great view to the lake and professional staff. Always there when needed. It was a great vacantion for us!
I recommend this place!!
We will be back there next year. 

A dream place!!!

Ohrid was more expensive than I'd anticipated so I was happy to stumble upon House Kostoski, an inexpensive option ~15 min walk to the city center. The room was okay, clean, with a fridge and small patio. And the hosts were very sweet and kind. 

There's a market and small bakery a few blocks down, but nothing in terms of bars/restaurants (you'll have to go to city center for those). But by being outside the city, you benefit from a more authentic experience. 

My only gripe is maintenance:
- Shower towels were actually hand towels. 
- The only place to wash dishes was the shared bathroom sink. 
- You're provided a roll of toilet paper upon arrival, so you're constantly running out an having to ask for more. 
- During my one-week stay, I was never offered a new towel, bed sheets, or dishes (which is something I'm sure I could request, but to me, this is standard service). 

Overall, my stay was fine and I enjoyed meeting the hosts and exploring beautiful Ohrid.

Inexpensive option in Ohrid

This place is really cheap, so if you're on a tight budget it's the place for you. There was a good size, clean bathroom on our level shared between 3 rooms. Our double room was rather small but served it's purpose. There's an old TV in each room so you're in luck if you speak Macedonian. Fan only in rooms but Ohrid is fairly cool anyway. Good Wifi.

Finding the place is potentially tricky. The small apartment building is tucked away in a suburban area. Travelers stick out in this suburb and the locals are very helpful so they will likely point you in the correct direction.  

The location is pretty good. 700 meters from the main bus station and 1.5km from the Castle and Lake. All an easy walk. If you are arriving by bus dont assume you will get dropped off at the bus station - Macedonians seem to enjoy suprising commuters with varied points of arrival.
