In all my solo travels one of the nicest and safest places I’ve stayed in. Let’s start with the apartment. Two spacious bedrooms with astounding views visible from the large windows. Having breakfast within touching distance of St Sophia was a particular delight. Incredibly clean and well maintained with all amenities provided. Location was spectacularly. Slightly away from the tourist hoi polloi, with two of the best restaurants in Ohrid on your doorstep. And the Lake, just steps away. All the main sites are easily walkable. Finally, the wonderful host - Maria. Kindness personified. She goes out of her way to ensure you are safe and comfortable providing everything from umbrellas to home cooked, hand delivered breakfast to waiting with you at 3:30am for a taxi. Maria is the heart and soul of this place. Would recommend Apartments Via Sakra as your first choice at Ohrid.
