I liked the hostel itself, big rooms, clean bathrooms, cozy. It is run by the Foroyar Hotel which is a very posh hotel with fantastic breakfast and dinner buffets. The hostel is in a separate building but you check in at the Foroyar. 

The views from the hostel are fantastic. It is located on a hilltop overlooking the city and harbor. The  hostel site shows that it's 1.8 km to the city but it feels like it's much much further. It takes about 25 to 30 minutes to get down to the harbor from the hostel. I never tried to walk back up because the way is quite steep uphill. It is about $15 to take a taxi from the harbor area to the hostel. 

There are no restaurants other than the buffet at the hotel to eat at near the hostel. So basically you are having to go down to the city for pretty much everything. 

A great place if you want to be away from everything, although for me, it was a bit too far. But the hostel itself is fantastic!



Cute and clean but far

Nice, cosy dormitories with steady bunk beds that don't make noise when people go on them. Very comfortable mattresses. Clean rooms, showers and common kitchen. There could be some more toilets in the second floor. Location of the hostel is awful for those without a car. Also very overpriced considering the location 

Good hostel but far from town

I stayed here while the next door hotel was full, and it was a nice place to sleep, the best thing is the bed, it is very comfortable, as good as the hotel next door.  Common bathrooms and eating place, but with the hotel next door, a full bar and restaurant is near within a minute walk.  Very nice simple place

Nice Place to rest and sleep

Quite a walk from the city center, but it offers you a great view on the city and bay. Hostel was very clean, had a good kitchen. But we missed atmosphere. Clinical, hardly any colour, no sounds. Good for just sleeping and maybe cooking if you bring your music to upgrade the cold atmosphere

Nice view, extreem clean, no atmosphere

I stayed in a 4 bed dorm and the bed was very comfortable. Toilets and showers were clean, and the rooms were cleaned every day. For any issues/questions (including getting coins for the laundry machine), you can just pop next door to ask the staff at Hotel Foroyar. The main downside was the distance to the city (a 25 minute walk), but I didn't mind the walk because of the wonderful views of the city as well as of the island of Nolsoy. Overall, it was great value for money
