The environment is rather interesting: next door there is an old factory that contained an interesting art exhibition, there is a refuge for injured birds, you can swim in river Kymi etc. Other than that the hotel is in the middle of nowhere, a couple of kilometres from town centre - and that town does not have a proper restaurant (ABC "gasoline chain" does offer food, but that is practically all) and that is a problem as Patruunantalo does not offer other food than breakfast.

The property is a really nice old building and the neighbouring "accomodation wing" in which we slept is clean and comfortable. With little extra effort in decorations etc. it would have been marvellous, now it is only a nice building with standard furniture (that does not fit in at all, the breakfast room is a good example of this).

Breakfast was ok, but if I was to choose (in a hotel with relatively few clients), I would rather have a narrower selection, but better quality (and fresher).

The service was really friendly and nice by the the only person we met, propably the entrepreneur himself: it is a difficult dilemma with relatively few clients and thus one can take care of everything alone, but if your time goes to being in reception, cleaning, doing the gardening, making breakfast etc, how will you be able to put more effort into details I mentioned earlier. I do  hope that he will be able to do that, because there is potential to raise the points from three to full five!

Great place and friendly service, but would have potential to so much more

Old manor house located within old wood mill area in a very quiet village of Pyhtää. The hotel is run by an extrelemely friendly and service minded staff. The room in Hunajatalo was pretty basic but has all the necessities like toilet. The bed was too soft for my liking. Breakfeast is included and it was Ok (porrige, bread, cheese, eggs, veggies, cereals, etc).

I would recommend this to anyone who is looking A quiet place to stay with intresting surraundings.
